I feel for you. Times are hard for many people these days. My suggestion is to look under Societies in the yellow pages. Once there look for St. Vincent De Paul, Salvation Army, FISH, Also under Churches look for Seventh-day Adventist as many of them have a Dorcas society that helps with food, clothes and blankets. For the town you live in look for the Consortium and they may help with other information. Right now I am sending a prayer up for you that you will be comforted as well as your babies. One thing about being in poverty is that it is easier to see God at work in your life and you realize He is the source of everything. God bless you. You will stay in my prayers.

Contact the Red Cross. If they can't help you directly, they can steer you in the right direction. Also, I don't know if this is a statewide service but in the Orlando area there's an phone line (dial 211) where you can get information on agencies that can help. It's a kind of hotline where you tell them what you need and they can tell you what agencies are available for that type of need. You may also want to contact the school guidance office. They may know of some services that can help as well.
When you're in the middle of a crisis it's hard to see the opportunity you're being presented. I've been in your situation and I know how scary it is. Luckily I didn't have kids going through it with me. Things will get better. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and take it day by day. You'll find a strength you didn't know you had and if you allow yourself to learn from your experiences you'll find a better life for yourself than the one you're coming out of . This is a transition period for you. Stay strong. If you need to talk or you just need a shoulder to cry on, feel free to email me.

You have received many good ideas here. I hope you follow them.
I hope you DO NOT SMOKE NOR DRINK ALCOHOL NOR DO ILLEGAL DRUGS. Money problems are very common in families where 1 or both parents do these activities.
I hope that the only thing you drink is WATER. Buying sodas, beers, etc. is too expensive. Only drink water from the tap--don't pay for bottled water. Do not buy cakes, cookies, chips, junk food, etc.. Make your food at home, NO TAKE OUT. Cancel your cable, your Internet. The only bills you should have are house payments or rent. Gas/electric/ the cheapest phone you can have. Food. I know I sound strict, but this may actually help you in the long run.
I see in the newspaper in California ads from charities who refurbish older cars and give them to people in need. Maybe they have this in Florida too.
Good luck!

I used to live in Tampa and I worked at a place called Metroplitan Ministries. They have a pretty well stocked thrift store and they help families as well as people going thru rehab;etc.According to your income you can get clothing cheap or even free.
