Dear Armen.

Turkey and PKK fight is not a war, its a cat and mouse game. Turkey's army was in Iraq and they fought PKK but could not finish them, about ten years ago if I am not mistaken.

They say PKK is attacking from Iraq into Turkey. I dont buy this because how can PKK cross the border? Why Turkey does not have guards at the border?

Either Turkey has a weak army or there is something else going on that the public does not know.

Oh BTW I thought Turkey was going to attack them in Iraq with full scale military action what happened? Bush didnt give approval?

I agree with the first person. It's turkey's 9/11, on a smaller scale, and they need to fight the terrorists. I just hope they don't make the the same mistake America made by going after a person like Saddam who had nothing to to with 9/11. They should stick with going against the PKK, and maybe any other groups that join in to help. hopefully Iran won't get involved.

War is an armed conflict between armies, nations, or parties. I don't like war and therefore I don't like talking about it. I think it's a silly and immature way of resolving a problem. If Turkey wants to get involved in America's dirty problems, then fine by me. I just don't want to see my two countries get hurt from a stupid decision or bad move. I think that if you are trying to fight terrorists, the chances of defeating them are slim. Nobody can ever defeat terrorism, because poverty and ill-education generates these types of people and makes it much harder to control. That's atleast what I think.

Sadam knew how to deal with the Kurds the same as the USA are dealing with the Iraqis. Iraq lost a leader who had control there was no more trouble from the Kurds after he wacked them for attacking Iraqis. They were left alone in the North until they started to get greedy and tried to claim land and independance as they are doing now. Now the Turks will have to do the dirty work. The Kurds will probably end up being given a homeland like the jews were given Palestine.

There are Turkish Kurds who sympathize towards the PKK but until they pick up a gun and point it towards Turkish targets then they are fine. The majority of the PKK are Kurds but the fight is against the PKK not Kurds. out of the 20million Kurds living in that area less than 10,000 are members of the PKK. that's proof enough to me that the PKK is not represented and wholeheartedly welcome by the Kurds.
The Kurds in general do seem to want there own national identity despite the PKK changing their fight from land to recognition ,but you cant expect Iran , Syria Turkey and Iraq to simply offer them land that's been fought over and paid with blood over the centuries . . also this land is populated by other cultures and nationalities who also won't want to live under Kurdish rule etc.

Is the land the Kurds want in Turkey also part of the land wanted by the Armenians , that would be interesting to see, what would happen then?

Your question is not very clear.

Do you mean you are not sure the fight- war- will not be only against PKK terrorists but going to include all the Kurdish origin Turkish citizens?

Please clarify so we can give you the requested answer accordingly.

EDIT : If the last edit is for me, please note that I am not analyzing your question, I am trying to understand what you mean..

OK..

If there is going to be an across the border operation it will be gone to PKK camps and the purpose will be to demolish the camps who provide logistic support to PKK terrorists only. The camps and the terrorists are known by ours, Iraqi and American governments and military.

The Kurdish people of Iraq are citizens of Iraq and since Iraq is under the invasion of USA, any attempt against an other country is called a declaration of war.

The operations- if necessary- are going to be done within the legal international agreements which are approved by Iraqi and American Governments. They are definitely NOT against innocent civilians but against PKK terrorists- Kurdish, Turkish, German. etc- who has Turkish blood on their hands.

The Turks, like all and sundry else interior the middle east, refuse autonomy to the minorities in Turkey. And interior the middle east, each and every political difficulty quickly inns to violence. In that, the Turks are no longer distinctive from the Syrians, Iraqis, Egyptians and Moroccans. there are minorities in one and all of those worldwide places, and that they are saved subdued with the aid of stress, and respond with the aid of terror.

War is done between two armies.
PKK is not a proper organized army , just a terrorist group.

edit : Ok you changed the word war. Now the Turks have no problem with the Kurds who live within the Turkish territory or outside of Turkey. The main problem is PKK and that they are terrorists who feel free to pass the borders of my country and kill my army soldiers plus civillians ( who are also kurdish in origin ) inside my country territories. And the whole world is at ease and telling Turkey to take it slow and blabla bla.

What happened on September 11 ? Wasnt that a terrorist attack done to the civilians ? Didnt USA swore to take revenge and started hunting for Osama in the middle east and ended up in Iraq ? Is Osama in Iraq ?

Yes we will protect our country by all means. Wouldnt you do the same ?

The point is and many miss it as they wish too.
PKK is a group under Turkey which labels with the USA as terrorist and this way they can kill them all and not have an opposing view. The same way they did to the Armenians.
And yes many innocents will die as in all wars which this is not or in any action to suppress people.
War is between two people , two countries or ideals. In some ways this could be called a war as both sides are armed unlike the Armenians and the PKK learned from the Turks not to give them up.

As a retired military personnel, I should say that WAR IS TERRIBLE than you can imagine... Nobody should wish...

But if circumstances dictates (such as defending homeland) it is unavoidable...

I firmly believe it will be against only PKK terrorists as stated officially, we have no problem with our citizens kurdish origin for thousands of year...
