(Sorry, I forget to type month after the eight.) Is it possible to remember events in your life as early as eight month old?

My first memory is of being bathed in the sink by my Nan. It's a definite memory, I remember she held me up to the mirror above the sink and did the whole 'who's a pretty girl then' thing that people seem to do with babies! I can distinctly remember seeing myself and my nan in the mirror. I've been told that I must have been about 6 months old at the time - my nan was looking after me for a week as my parents had gone abroad with the rest of the family.

People tell me that I can't possible remember something that happened when I was that young, but I can assure you that it is definitely a memory I have. Other than that I can't remember anything from when I was very young.

I remember my first day at school and that was nearly 30 years ago. My Mum dropped me off and I didn't cry until I saw my friend crying and then I started. Don't know if it is my oldest memory or not but it is one that sticks out in my mind.

Sometimes when I hear a song that is about 30 years old I remember hearing it when I was little.

When I am sitting quiet, some times a few bars of music come into my head , just for a second and I know I have heard them before, but I never can remember where. I believe it is from the time in my mothers belly.

My earliest memory is from the night my brother was born, I was almost 3. I had woken up and watched a dinosaur movie with my aunt and then in the morning I ate apple cinnamon oatmeal and when my dad came to take me to the hospital, he bought me a peppermint pattie and we ate it in the car.

Nothing traumatic that early in my life.

Yes.

It is possible to remember things as 'snap shots' from a very young age.

I remember siting in my high chair when I was 6 mths old and the family dog (judy) jumping up and knocking me over.

I clearly remember going to nursery, and I remember what the nursery was like.
I would have been around 3 then.
this memory has stirred up a lot of other memories around that time!
I used to wonder how people that wrote their autobiography remembered soo much,in so much detail, but I suppose they just have to remember one thing and it stirs up other memories?

In my first clear memory, I'm two years old and I turn around in a crowd of people and realise my Dad's not there. Lol

I remember being in my crib at my grandfather's and great-grandmother's house. My mother was in the hospital and died when I was 15 months old. I remember my daddy coming and taking me to catch lightening bugs in the yard and then taking me home with him.

I have some memories that date to when I was around a year, maybe a little earlier.
