I am trying to get into the radiology program at my college, and so far it has been pretty challenging. I'm just wondering how well all of you radiologists like your jobs. Is it a fun job? Do you work good hours? Was it easy to find a job when you graduated? Do you feel that all of the schooling was worth it? I would appreciate any information. Thanks! :)

#1 thing you have to learn: we are not radiologists. We are radiologic technologists. A radiologist is a doctor.

It can be fun, boring, stressful - it changes by the minute.

Medical imaging is needed 24/7/365, so you could work any hours.

I had two offers when I graduated.

Yes, it was worth it. Actually that was my motto all through school... "it will be worth it when I'm done, it will be worth it when I'm done, it will be worth it when I'm done... "

EDIT: What did I say that deserved a thumbs down???

Thumbs up to RadTech....she is right about our hours, our experiences and our titles.

I also agree with your opinion on your schooling. It can be challenging when you are going through the program, but it is well worth it.

Not sure what is going on with all of the thumbs down lately.....
