I've been to some that WERE rock concerts with a sermon in the middle. The witness was very effective for those who would not go to the standard Sunday service.

I think you are speaking of Pentecostal Churches. Hey if you would rather worship in silence or ritual that's fine. That's why there are different demoninations of Churches. You have to find the one that makes you feel the closest to God. I choose a Pentecostal Church because I have two boys that would be bored to tears anywhere else. If they can't relate to the messenger than what good is the message. I love our Praise and Worship time, the Lord God has given us all a voice to praise him with, and the great thing is he doesn't care what we sound like, as long as we are lifting him up in worship. Which is a blessing for me, because I can't sing a note.

I don't think so. I never prayed or worshiped a Holy God at a rock concert. I do agree that some Church music is getting out of hand.

We actually just made this comment at a little church recently. They are attempting to revitalize it and a band of young people are playing at the 2nd service. It is loud, it is hard to follow the music and lyrics and so for the people in the pews we are generally left standing and trying to catch up.
It lacks the accessibility of many of the hymns and therefore in my opinion leaves me feeling left out in the cold.
I try, but my sense of being worshipful leaves something to be desired. And I am in prayer asking God to get me past this, or to change the band. I am asking Him if it is pleasing to Him.

I think a lot of the mega-church services are. I don't think the more traditional protestant services are though...say Methodist, Episcopal, Lutheran. I think they tend to be more church like.

Some are, by the way some of my friends describe them. (I assume you mean the sort of concert where people just sit down and listen most of the time, and maybe get up and dance a little.)

I think your talking about the weird churches in the American Bible Belt. Protestant churches aren't like that in Europe.

yeah, a lot singing, the person in the lead tends to be on coke, and most of the time the audience just wants to act like a fool with someone else is why they are there.

No I go to a Lutheran Church that is very traditional. (old fashioned) and I love it .I refuse to go to the more contemporary services it is just loud drums, electric guitars, and noise.and none of it is joyful to me.
