Quite frankly Im sick of it.

Seriously what are you trying to prove? Do you think you are more superior or do you think you know more than the other? To be bluntly honest, when you argue you look stupid, very stupid.

Next time if your beliefs are being slandered you would want to defend it, right, well how about just ignoring it next time? Because thats his device, he wants to aggravate you and when you reply saying things like "you have demons!!" you are falling into their trap.

You both think your right. If so, then if your reasons contradicted the others beliefs as you say they do (which none of you actually have), then there would be no need to argue. so all your left with is a bias belief.

Finally the saddest thing is; most of you don't even care why your fighting, you just do it because you are plainly arrogant people who are afraid, and must hide behind YA to do harm. So Christians just ignore atheist slanders, and atheist GET OUT OF THE RELIGION AND SPIRITUALITY SECTION!

I don't think your assessment is fair or accurate. I haven't seen as much venom as you seem to describe. I think that the conflict between Atheists and Christians is a big part of what makes R&S interesting, and that if it were all Muslim people asking about Sharia, or Buddhists asking people to describe the Hells and Heavens on the wheel, it would be exceedingly boring, and I would lose interest and leave.
Christians and Atheists are clever, both are. I'm neither, but I believe that there is a lot of wit and wisdom in both communities--and probably, I would say, more in the Atheist camp than in the Christian camp. But SDW and a few other Christians are very witty, and very intelligent and make excellent points.
So I say why kill conflict? It's the driving force that leads us to growth, spiritually, mentally, and even physically. Your muscles can't grow if you don't destroy them a bit, do they? The tissue has to repair itself.
So it stands to reason that the conflict between Atheists and Christians has made us all a bit smarter, a bit wiser, and a bit more mature.

All that "make nice" talk, and then you end up with this?

"So Christians just ignore atheist slanders, and atheist GET OUT OF THE RELIGION AND SPIRITUALITY SECTION!"

You need to work on your arrogance problem, kid. The problem in this section is caused by Christians slandering atheists. Atheists are here because we want to defend ourselves. If you can get the Christians to stop lying about atheists, I'll consider leaving R&S. I don't think there's any chance of that, because the Christians here have practically nothing to say that's not a lie about someone who doesn't share their religion.

Well, hmm... one reason atheists tend to be a bit grumpy is that some people don't seem to understand atheism is not necessarily irreligious and can very definitely be relevant to spirituality.

The main reasons it seems like Christians and atheists are constantly fighting are two-fold.
Firstly, monotheistic by demand and atheistic are inherently the most intolerant stances as far as the number of god(s) in the universe go, and simply necessitate their voiceful propagation much more than any point of view that allows for multiple and possibly even different gods or doesn't really care about the god issue.
Secondly, they're the most numerous groups in anglophonic western countries.

Also, if you pay closer attention, you'll notice that there's aggressive posters of other faiths on here (I noticed some Muslims; I can be myself, and I'm agnostic), and that some protestants in particular love dissing other Christian denominations just as much (or even more) than atheists.

AND NICE JOB TRYING TO HIDE BEHIND AN APPARENTLY INTELLIGENT QUESTION. Because, be honest, that's what you did.

So you can't stand the heat, you get out.

I still have my freedom of speech to speak against something I do not believe in. You have a problem with that?

For Jasper S, your argument is only valid if there is only one religion in the world, which is not true. Therefore those who believe in a religion is not above those who do not believe in any religion.

If you want to put it down to slander...who slandered first? ;-)

You want to try being a gay atheist, then you'll know what slander is. I wonder why people hide behind religion when they slander others (atheists, gays, Jews etc) , calling them morally equivalent to a rapist, murderers, thiefs or drug addicts?

And you have the nerve to imagine that I (or anyone else) shouldn't question this?

Exactly who is 'arrogant' here?

And your last line cracks me up.

Irony is a fine a55 kicker.

I have never had a problem with Atheists. Only with bigoted Christians who ridicule ,make fun of, and tell lies about the Catholic Church, while they offend Mary and Jesus.

Here is a simple solution:

If you believe in religion, and it is true, you will gain everything.
If you believe in religion and it is not true, you lose nothing.
If you do not believe and it is true, you're going to hell, baby!

Get off your soap box. Who died and made you god? You can't tell me what to do and expect that I'll do it. I like to think that I'm doing a community service. Religion deserves to be slandered at every possible opportunity.
