How old are you? If you are 15 and he is 25, that is wrong. If you are 20 and he is 30, that is a bit better.
Just be friends with him. Tell him you don't want to date right now that you just want to get to know him as friends. Get to know him slowly. See if you like him enough to date him. Give it time.

ahh the age question again...
s far as im concerned when it comes to romance you shouldnt let age be a problem, but there are limits
for example, you sound like you might be quite young, mid teens maybe (sorry if im wrong!) and for that age ten yrs is a bit much, for a gap like that id say you wud want to be at least 18 or so
also depends on the persons maturity, if youre a very mature 17 a gap like that would just about be acceptable, but if youre a young 18 i would say its a bad idea
how mature do you consider yourself, whats youre actual age, and last thing- if youre youngish be careful this guy isnt after the typical '1 thing!

well I am 9.5 yrs older than my bf and it is a wonderful relationship - you just have to find someone who is at your same maturity level and has a lot in common with you and the age difference wont really matter. as long as you are of legal age that is. go on a date with him and see what happens, if nothing else, you will have a nice night out on the town and a new friend.

How old are you and where are you at in life???
I'm 22 and my boyfriend of 2 years is 34 and its bliss bliss bliss!! But if you 16 and hes 26 and your at school and he has a job and a house and stuff then thats not likely to work ut. How did you meet him ect ect??
I met my boyfriend at work but if he'd came up to me in a club I would have knocked him back because I would think why is this old man in here chatting up young girls? Does he do this every weekend and so on! I also knew folk who knew my boyfriend (coz we worked together) so they gave me honest opinions on whether he was an old sleaze or whether he genuinlly liked me and wasn't just after a bit of young stuff!!
So basically, we need more info!

You never know. Believe me you are going to blink and be 10 years older. Give it a shot. Or else you are going to look back and wish you would have. I hate regrets.
As long as his name isn't R. Kelly you should be ok.

Save yourself some grief and watch any movie about teen romance from the 80s. Pay particular attention to the end.
Alternatively, tune your television to the Lifetime station any time other than 6PM et/pt(because that's when Reba comes on, and no one likes Reba...come to think of it, no one likes Lifetime either).

1) How old are you?
2) How old is he?
3) Does he like you back?
Unless your younger that 18 I don't see a problem with it.
Go for it!
