No one smoke here and we haven't been around any smokers. I noticed it when I was putting his pyjamas on tonight. There are 3 about 2 inches apart. They are about 1 cm wide, with a scabby edge, but the centre isn't scabby.
He has only been around us this week and no-one else has any. My nieces did come over earlier in the week, but I never saw any on them.
Any ideas????
He is going to the doctor tomorrow, but I just wanted to know if anyone knows what they are

Brian, one of my friends had a cigarette butted out on him, by a homophobic loser. It looks exactly like it! But I know he hasn't been around smokers!
He is 2 so asking isn't getting me anywhere.
And it isn't ringworm. I am sure about that. It does look simular, but it isn't bumpy or itchy.

Sounds like school sores to me. they are about that size and description. my son got them when he was just a baby even though no-one else had them. they are highly infectious and can be picked up just about anyway from anyone.
they're very treatable though and need to be kept covered to prevent cross-infection. make sure you wash your hands all the time and avoid touching them.
best of luck. doc will tell you for sure what they are. could also be ring worm.

I would bet it is ringworm. This happened to my son - he had one on the inside of his upper arm - I thought for sure it was a burn. My sister had been watching him and she smokes, so I asked her - she said she didn't or that if she did, he didn't react and she didn't realize it. But, it wasn't what would have been an accidental brushing of one, it was nice and round and the right size of the cherry. Turns out it was ringworm. Treated it with Lotriman AF for a few weeks per the doctor's orders - it cleared after about a week or so but had to treat for another week so it wouldn't come back. He got one on his knee then too.

It could be ringworm. If it were really a cig burn, you would know. I've see them. It is a nasty looking thing.
Has your son been around any animals? I had a cat who kept giving it to me once. Mine never itched. It is fairly easy to cure. You just apply an antifungal. Make sure you keep that appointment. The earlier you start treatment, the better.
Good luck and best wishes.

Definately sounds like ringworm to me. your doctor will prescribe an anti-fungal cream to treat it and it will fade out. The other cause may be excema - there is a type that looks alot like ring worm and what you are describing. the doctor should be ablr to tell you at first glance. Both are easily treatable.

That sounds like ringworm to me too. Does it seem to hurt or itch him?
Don't worry if it's ringworm, it's not a real worm and it's very easily cleared up with the right ointment.

It really does sound like ringworm. When I had ringworm it never itched. Only your doctor will be able to tell for sure. Good luck tomorrow!

Did you ask your son where they came from ? How do you know what cigarette burns look like ? I have never seen a cigarette burn on a human body so I would not know. They could be something else.

my best guess would be ringworm, but kids have such sensitive skin it is really hard to know, sometimes rashes turn out to be the most unlikely, like insect bites, or an allergy? good luck at the doctor. x

He may be getting chicken pox..I didn't get them until I was an adult, but mine started out the same way..when I first noticed, I had 3 dots on arm and they all looked like cigarette burns. And they won't itch until the blister is completly scabbed over.
