At the minute the quote I believe in isn't life changing, it doesn't make people gasp and go "wow, that quote is one I should live by" but it is pretty darn true....

NEVER LET A FOOL KISS YOU, OR A KISS FOOL YOU

If at first you don't succeed, try and try again! Then give up. There's no point in being an idiot about it.

This is a jokey motto that somebody sent me and I have it pinned up in my studio, above the sewing machine (I'm a patchworker and textile artist). I interpret it as 'always do the best you can, but recognise that some things are not meant to be. If it doesn't work out after 3 attempts, just accept that and move on. Don't cling on to the past by repeatedly trying to correct an old mistake. That'll only make the problem worse.'

I also like 'If at first you don't succeed, go back to bed' - but that's not quite so inspirational!

When you value yourself the most, you are best suited to value to a relationship.

We are never given dreams without also being given the power to make them come true.

The worst regret you can have in life is not for the wrong things you did, but for the things that you did not do.

It's not the great things you do that matters but the small things you do with a great heart.

It is better to have few possessions and much hope than to have many things and little hope.

The imagination of today is the reality of tomorrow.

It's so funny how we set qualifications for the right person to love, while at the back of our minds we know that the person we truly love will always be an exception.

You'll know that you miss someone very much when evry time you think of that person, your heart breaks into pieces and just a quick "Hello" from that person can bring the broken pieces back...

You get the most out of school when you go with the desire to learn. Get the most out of life by "going to life" each day with the desire to learn. Valuable lessons are all around you... you just have to open your eyes.

Opportunity is looking beyond the surface of a situation and seeing what others do not see.

discover your true purpose and discover your true potential.

Today's student of possibility is tomorrow's master of reality.

The forward steps we take in life provide opportunity for greater success and fulfillment by providing us with the knowledge of what works for us. In the setbacks of life there is opportunity to achieve our goals and dreams by trying new strategies and new paths...

One opportunity falling apart is another chance for a greater opportunity to present itself.

I like your quote but hte one that motivates me most is the speech by Winston Churchill in 1940.

4 June 1940

"I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend our Island home, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone.

At any rate, that is what we are going to try to do. That is the resolve of His Majesty's Government-every man of them. That is the will of Parliament and the nation.

The British Empire and the French Republic, linked together in their cause and in their need, will defend to the death their native soil, aiding each other like good comrades to the utmost of their strength.

Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Gestapo and all the odious apparatus of Nazi rule, we shall not flag or fail.

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France,
we shall fight on the seas and oceans,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."

This I have stuck above my laptop, so that when i want to give up on something i think of the many people who have died to give us freedom and i am greatful to them and this reminds me of them.

The most famous line is 'We will fight them on the beaches.' and people still call it this today.

'No man is an island.... any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind. And therefore never ask for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for you.' Adaptation from John Donne, a 17th Century English poet. Taken by Ernest Hemingway for the title of his book about the Spanish Civil War - 'For whom the bell tolls.'

A good second would be 'And when the one great umpire comes to write against your name, he writes not if you won or lost, but how you played the game.'
My grandmother had this quote framed on her dressing table, but I've forgotten where it comes from.

I like this message a lot and I got it from "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. It keeps my hopes up and make me face my dreams with more enthusiasm.

...."whoever you are, or whatever it is that you do, when you really want something, it's because that desire originated in the soul of the universe. It's your mission on earth." ...."And when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."
