i have been in china on and off the last six years and have noticed of late that papers in china have extended there attacks on taiwan saying she belongs to them and 08 will be time enough. u.s.a. has a battle fleet in the area,but CHINA has a v/big and strong defence .will AUST.back THE U.S.OF A.if HOWARD is the P.M.

China considers Taiwan as its province and it is just waiting for the right time to annex it as their territory. The US must not intervene on this conflict because it is an internal problem of China.

If Taiwan does not make herself Independence, it is very unlikely China to use her Arm force to take over Taiwan. The current president of Taiwan is a pretty crazy person. It's hard to say if he will do some silly thing... (Well... this guy already makes enough trouble for himself, and may not care to make some extra.)

I am sure America will try to maximize her benefit if there is way, but it won't go into a serious war with China unless they decided it is time to end the world.

I don't think China will risk it. The US Navy and Airforce will send their ships and planes to the bottom of the sea if they tried. Then again, if the Clintons get back in office, our Navy and Airforce will probably be on China's side.
