I only asked how much the gates's gave for actual food as opposed to education and computers, but my first answer was really confusing to me. When can people learn to answer questions in this forum without throwing rocks at those who ask? I've always admired Mr. and Mrs. Gates and have even been polite enough to address them properly.
Can any one answer the exact ? as I've a reason to want to know.

Bill Gates AND his wife have given millions to both the homeless in other countries AND in their own country. Not only that, he has given thousands of computers to schools in the poorest schools who cannot afford them otherwise. He then goes into these schools and teachers the students, themselves, what they can do with their future, by learning to use a computer properly.

They have a foundation and I believe it is called the Bill and (wife's name) Gates Foundation, if you want to look it up.

Do you know how I am able to tell you this? Because I have followed their generosity over the years. It is something that I would do, if I had their money and it is wonderful that two people who are one of the richest couples in the world, would still be very happy together, and do so much good with their money and still remain, nice people. In this particular case, having a lot of money, DOES make you happy.

They are both examples of being very, very rich yet sharing their wealth with the underprivileged.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation web site, which I'm sure is oh-so-easy to find on a Google search, will have complete information on where their money goes. The Foundation has a particular focus on healthcare in the developing world.

By contrast, Microsoft, the corporation, also has a giving program, entirely seperate from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and, again, looking at the philanthropy/foundation site for Microsoft will give you information about where their funding goes.

I don't believe either foundation is focused on food and nutrition, but I could be wrong. But as anyone who works in aid will tell you, when you improve people's education and access to information, the result is that their nutrition, their access to food and their healthcare improves dramatically. There's a plethora of research to back up this finding at various aid-focused web sites.

The SEC website might have these answers. But I think that their commitment is to education and they need it.

The homeless and hungry have churches, shelters, vans that go around and give them what they need. Whereas the schools have been screwed under our current wanna be president.
