Knowital, Boy your name fits you perfect. No I am not racists , I have a lot of friends from different cultures and I am married to somone from another culture. I did not know that they really do eat dog meat until I saw a show about it. Have you ever heard of someones dog getting poisened? I consider this the same kind of thing, and yea I think its gross since I am not from that culture. Whats up with the questions about gay ppl? You are a little off topic. You must be sensitive to that for your own reasons, so dont project it on me. Ge a hobby.

You claimed that you are not racial, but your title is "How can Vietnamese ppl eat dog meat ?" ! What if after I watched the movie "Hannibal " and I wrote " American ppl eat human meat " . What do you think ? Of course, each culture and tradition has different preferences , its good , its bad, its ugly. You don't know much about your next door, then do not be the expert about the whole nation. You should listen to the "Nekkido " . He is absolutely wise, when he gave his response.

confident, Vietnamese human beings do consume dogs. there's a factor of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh city) that have many eating places merchandising dogs meat. a pair of jokes for you: Q. What do you call a Vietnamese walking a dogs? A. A vegetarian. Q. What do you call a Vietnamese walking 2 dogs? A. A livestock rancher. Notes extra: considering that "AzNgUrL521" (submit under) did no longer get my jokes, i assume i'm going to could clarify: * A Vietnamese walking a dogs could be a vegetarian, by way of fact if he have been a meat-eater he could've eaten that dogs. * A Vietnamese having 2 dogs is in all probability elevating them for butchering, like livestock ranchers elevating cattle. BTW. i became born and raised in Vietnam, and that i've got eaten my share of dogs meat. it incredibly is GOOOOOD !

This is going to sound harsh, but I'd be worried if I were in your shoes.

A friend was in a similar situation, and her neighbors ended up eating her cat. And yes, I am serious.

I'd build a very high fence, make sure your dogs are incredibly secure, ask your son not to contact your neighbor's son, or even move if you can.

While it could be just boys being boys, there is always the possibility of it being something more; it wouldn't hurt to be extra cautious where your dogs are concerned.

I wish you luck, and I sincerely hope this helps.

I would have to go over there and say something like this. Um i was just wondering do you not like my dogs? If he answers with a no i would say well your son said... and if he answers with a yes then i would ask why and then i would add your son told my son... This way you are telling on the boy without actually telling on him. If they want to eat your dogs then i am sure that they didn't want their kid saying anything and if they don't want to eat your dogs i'm sure they are going to be pretty upset that their son said that.

I think they likely know Americans always think Viets eat dogs so the Viet boy said that your son only to rattle him a bit. Why do that hate your dog? Does it bark all the time? That could be very annoying but even so they should talk to you about it first.

Yep. Keep a close eye on them. Now.....the neighbor's son might have just said that out of meanness. I mean Lord have mercy, surely his father would not eat his neighbor's pet and face the wrath of the authorities not to mention the community at large?
Your dog(s) come up missing. Every time they put their trash out...YOU collect it. After the kids have gone to bed of course.
Dog meat does seem to be very good. Leopards have been known to go out of their way to get some.

I wouldnt worry about it. Boys can say nasty, mean things to each other. If you are concerned, maybe you should go talk to your neighbor. Im sure he's a decent man.. even if he does like dog meat, Im sure he would respect what is yours.

Some cultures eat dog meat, its considered a delacacy.. there are other cultures who consider cows to be sacred and they do not eat them.. can you imagine what they think of us?

Yes, actually you should. A Vietnamese family lived across the way from my cousin and she had a few kitties. They kept disappearing and she one day looked out the window and saw one in their window. when she went over they admitted to taking loose cats and eating them. My husband is Vietnam Vet and actually has eaten dog because it was the custom over there. Dogs to them, are like cows to us. They don't hate dogs but they don't revere them as family members as we do. They are food or farm workers to them. Good luck.

Well unless hes a nutter hes probably not going to grab your dogs and eat them. You could talk to the man like someone else suggested. Something like
"Hi. Do our dogs bother you? I know they bark a lot.." Even if they don't bark at all.

I agree talk to these people first, don't panic, if they are nice they probably won't eat your dogs.
