I liked the old US Army fatigues, the cotten satine type. They were inexpensive, looked good and very utilitarian. The field jacket and field pants were great for the field but the fatigues were best for all around wear, field and garrison. The BDUs were OK but such a waste of money. You could buy four sets of fatigues for what one set of BDUs cost.
The Khakis were great class B uniforms too, much better than the snot green shirts they got now with the Class A trousers. I have always hated that snot green color ever since they came out.
I am impressed with the speed lace boots though. They came out in the early 80s and they are so much easier than the previous boot but, the previous boot had the wedge cut out instep that made them more comfortable. The BDU cap was also a major improvement over the baseball cap, if they had just kept the fatigues and made those BDU caps OD green they would have had the perfect uniform.

You have probably never seen it except in a movie.
My favorite uniform were the World War II Army dress "Pinks".... They had a dark brown finger tip length wool blouse with light tan slacks.
When you cover the chest with ribbons and badges, add blouse Cochran jump boots; it is a fabulous uniform. Unlike the Army and Marine garish dress blues, pinks were tastefully understated and appropriate for all occasions. .

My favorite uniforms are the Navy dress blues and the Johnny Cashs. The dress blues are really comfortable and I like how professional the Johnny Cashs look.

As somebody who has to placed on military clothing on a each and on a daily basis foundation I could say that the hot uniforms suck. The ACU's are lighter and placed on out greater easily then the previous BDU's or DCU's for that count. it particularly is to assert no longer something of the doubtful high quality of their camouflage. The actual coaching Uniform is a little greater effective. it particularly is definitely greater mushy interior the summertime. as far with the aid of fact the wintry climate pt's what am i able to assert. If that is 0 outdoors and windy it is going to be chilly. additionally neither wintry climate or summer time pt's have any skill to maintain out moisture. ultimately the drawing near new military dress uniform. i'm only fairly grateful i'm going to in no way could placed on them. it style of feels as though somebody on the Pentagon concept that if we alter our uniform to a minimum of one that looks greater like the Marines enlistment might sky rocket. looks a shame a minimum of to me to cut back the distinctiveness of the army it somewhat is taken under consideration necessary the main original of the branches. as far as what i admire? i think of the Marines darkish conflict dress uniform is spectacular. i'm a huge fan in spite of if i'm no longer able to remember what it particularly is termed.
