There are a number of people who have read a book written by an atheist - Hitchens - and they are repeating everything he wrote as if they have some great insight. Others just want to be as outrageous as they possibly can. It is always open season on Christians and those they think are Christian.

There should be. Considering the influence of christianity or religion in our daily lives, how those who don't believe have to live with the decisions made by those who do believe ie Bush, Blair, Brown, unelected bishops sitting in the house of Lords, the tax braeks given to religious groups then atheists should be fighting aginst religeon.

There's a war between good and evil. On one side are Christians, few, but very influential. On the other are people who claim to be Christians (JWs, Mormons, 'high church' Anglicans, liberals, fundamentalists, charismatics, KJVOers, Calvinists, Catholics, Orthodox), those who claim to be atheists, those who claim to follow Allah, along with people of all the other religions- though not all members of those followings, many of whom are ignorant and duped. All of the active combatants believe in Jesus as the manifestation of the eternal deity; some of them love him, some of them hate him. It's very basic, black and white.

The atheists do a pretty good job of picking on us. Be fair.

I tried to make peace with one who told me that it would always be war because I (as a Christian) was indecent and idiotic.

How's that for atheists being kind and accepting, peace-loving, etc?
I won't Divulge her name.

Thankfully, not all are like She is.

I NEVER knew there WAS a battle or any strife at all until I came here...to Yahoo.

Maybe it's just a Yahoo thing.

There is a continual battle for the hearts and minds of humanity. It need not result in physical or verbal abuse.

Obviously some atheist harass christians and visa-versa.

I'm atheist and personally believe live and let live. I usually only will attack someones religious beliefs if they ask me something religious and then harass me for being atheist. Other than that I live in harmony.

Atheists are just sad faithless people who can't stand the fact that Christians have a strong faith and are happy with their lot. They post stupid questions demanding proof etc. There IS no proof...that's why we've got faith. If they aren't bothered by God (myself, I think they are really bothered by the fact that they do not know Him)...why bother? Why not get on with their hedonistic , sad lives and leave people to their religion?
We don't hate atheists...but we DO pity them....and they can't STAND that either!

Yep, and atheists are kicking some Christian kiester. But it happens all over the net. In nearly every religious forum, Christians are getting nailed with atheists logic.
