Hi kristen, I should like to that you knew that Lymph node cancer is curable and if detected early and with effective treatment a person with lymph node cancer has a greater chance than ever before of being cured of this disease and if cured can expect to live a long and normal life. Treatments that were once experimental and have been found to be effective are now being used to treat and cure lymph node cancer.
Yes, Despite the precautions taken to give the radiotherapy as accurately as possible there will always be some side effects associated with radiotherapy to the thyroid, this is may be tiredness and fatigue, may be a slight pinking of the skin, .. but these challenges are defeated depends greatly on how you perception them. A fighting spirit has been proven time and again to be a powerful weapon to have in your arsenal when battling cancers of all types. Accepting defeat in any challenge almost guarantees defeat. The will to fight and live on has carried so many cancer survivors to victory over the disease.

the respond in part relies upon on regardless of if the main cancers has somewhat unfold to the lymph nodes or regardless of if the medical doctors are taking the lymph nodes out "in simple terms in case." putting off the lymph nodes in simple terms in case is a preventative degree: no lymph nodes skill that's extra durable for many cancers cells to pass and improve someplace else (metastasize). regrettably, by using fact the medical doctors are putting off the lymph nodes and checking her bones, the medical doctors suspect that the lymph nodes are showing maximum cancers and that the main cancers may well be transforming into someplace else. this would effect survival plenty; maximum cancers it somewhat is transforming into someplace else is frequently extra severe and extra deadly. nevertheless, aggressive clinical care, your buddy's ordinary wellbeing, the variety of maximum cancers, and so on make the survival opportunities selection plenty. Your ultimate guess is to desire and help the ill guy or woman.

I had radiation to the throat area. I had a HUGE sore throat during radiation. And all the usual skin irritation, etc. I also had shingles during radiation. Also, if there's any hair in the radiation field, it will not grow back. [upper neck for me - still doing the combover]
Then, three years later, I developed obstructive sleep apnea. Actually, about 2 1/2 years after radiation I started snoring - then the sleep apnea was discovered. The muscle tone in my throat is not what it once was, and that contributed to sleep apnea in me. My throat is still really sensitive, and I go hoarse easily.
I hope all goes well for you.
Best wishes.
