Writing this for a friend because I don't know what to tell them.
They were sexually assaulted and almost raped and the cops don't seem to be doing anything. One was about 2 or 1 year ago now and the other weeks ago.
What do you do? Call the cops and ask em why nothing is happening?

She reported both to the cops... and nothing seems to be happening.. they even lost the statement on the first one.

Yes call them, they should be able to give you more info, if they dont have enough evidence they can atleast tell you that, at some point though it moves on to being the D.A.s responsibility so you could also contact them

Just to the station and speak to the Lt. Somtimes people get a little over excited and want to press charges or file a report when nothing has really happened. Just go to the station ask to speak to the watch commander and let him know the situation.

COPS CAN ONLY TAKE A REPORT WITHIN A CERTAIN TIME FRAME.
IF YOU WANT TO REPORT A RAPE OR SEXUAL ASSAULT YOU DO NOT WAIT 2 YEARS WEEKS OR DAYS.
USUALLY WITHIN 24 HOURS A RAPE KIT HAS TO BE DONE TO DO A RAPE CASE.
AN ASSAULT SEXUALLY WILL SHOW BR USING AND BRUTALITY? IF LEFT GO FOR A WEEK, AND THE BRUISES ARE GONE? NO EVIDENCE.
EVIDENCE IS THE KEY IN RAPE AND TIME OF SAID CRIME AND REPORTED CRIME SHOULD BE WITHIN 24 HRS FOR RAPE AND 72 HOURS FOR ABUSE.
IF YOU KNOW THE SAME INDIVIDUALS AR DOING THE STREETS IN FEAR AND INTIMIDATION, I KNOW THE COPS KNOW WHO THEY ARE. A REPORT TO THEM DOES NOT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE A WRITTEN REPORT. I USE TO DO AN FIR(FIELD INTERROGATION REPORT) FILED ON A CRIME AND CRIME VICTIMS WHERE VICTIM WANTED TO MAKE US AWARE BUT NOT PRESS CHARGES.
A LOT OF CASES LIKE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ARE HARD TO PROSECUTE BECAUSE OF THE TIME GAPS AND LACK OF HARD EVIDENCE IN THE CASE TO FULLY BE ABLE TO PROVE WHAT HAPPENED HAPPENED?

complain to your local authority there is many other authorities other than the police stations
