I have a loud, highpitched ringing in my ears for the last few days. I am getting over a kick butt sinus infection. Could it just be from that? Its loud, annoying loud. TY.......

I hope for you it goes away.

I suffer from tinnitis, ringing of the ears. I went to see a doctor about it, he asked me if it was loud enough to keep me awake at night (it isn't, thank goodness). They can't seem to do anything about it.

Yes, it could be because of the infection. It could also be because fighting the infection has depleted your body and you're just plain tired. Your ears ring when you're exhausted as well. Another reason for that ringing is that since the nose, ear and throat are internally connected you might have residual infection or your recent infection has affected your hearing in some way. Could be temporary or permanent, though I think not likely to be permanent.

If it stops in a few days, you shouldn't worry.

If in doubt, see your doctor.

it could be from the sinus infection....i however have had it since i was 7....i' m now 27...yeah, its a lot of fun (sarcasm)
if it sticks around it could be from nerve damage called tinnitus... hope it doesn't though. i'm sure it has something to do with your sinus infection

sweetie I would say call the dr. that is on call and see what they may have to say about it. the reason I say this is because I had ringing in my ears and they told me that my equilibrium was off and that why i was experiencing that.

it could be an effect of your sinus infection. when you have a sinusitis you tend to blow your nose from time to time, when you need to do so, try blowing your nose with your mouth open so that your ears will not get that much pressure, & blow your nose slowly. (try consulting a doctor)
