Kind of depends on the State you live in. Some states might throw you a parade, others might toss you in prison.

Federal law states no one under 18 may own a firearm. A minor may POSSESS a firearm while under the supervision of an adult. Which is why my 8 yr old granddaughter can go to the range with me to fire her pink stocked, .22 rifle.

In your case you would certainly be asked why you had the firearm in the first place and who let you have it. If it was a clear case of self defense, I doubt much would be done to you or the adult. If it wasn't, you both could be looking at some jail time.

you sound more like a 12 year old, and if it were to happen, you'd better have a lot of proof. AND a lot of money for the lawyer. at 17 you'd go to court as an adult in most states.
what you need to keep in mind is, there are a lot of anti-gun prosecuters who would love to screw you into the ground, to make a name for themselves.

DEPENDING ON THE STATE-MANY STATES HAVE A SELF DEFENSE LAW. SOME DO NOT.

17 IS DEFINITELY THE WRONG AGE TO CARRY LET ALONE POSSESS A GUN.

THE JUDGE WOULD HAVE TO RENDER A DECISION ON THIS AS TWO WRONGS DO NOT MAKE A RIGHT.

IF HE COULD SHOW FEAR FROM A PAST OCCASION AND NO BODY DID ANYTHING THEN HE MAY SHOW WHY HE FELT SECURE WITH A WEAPON.

I guess it could happen, But rape HIM. Maybe the rapist is gender confused......Victim becomes a perp and goes to jail for carrying a firearm.

the rapist would sue him and pretty much get away with it cause he shot him. Sometimes the law can be pretty gay. he would get into lots of trouble for one they would take his gun away and he would be screwed I'm not sure on how much time he would have to serve .

and whoever you got the gun from would get in trouble too. parents watch out, you'll be seeing some fines at least, possibly some time.
