I would take a pass.
And no, I don't have any anger problems.

Why would I fight you? Unless of course I had no other options. If I could not talk you down than I would try to make you as enraged as I possibly could. We at our school train to disarm and defend from sticks clubs pipes chains knives and the like. Weapons are just an extension of the body.
In my humble experience the enraged fighter is the easiest to overcome. Frequently the rage disengages the brain and critical thinking goes out the window. They frequently forget everything the learned about fighting.
I am really concerned more with the opponent who has a little bit of anger and can clear away his rage and focus on the thing at hand.
Take some anger management course so you can be a better fighter. You don't need anger to be a good fighter.
To the technical part of your question: Consider that when you are occupied with the bat you are limited to the kinds of attacks you can make. Having a weapon against a experienced and well trained fighter can sometimes be a disadvantage.
As a defender you can not back of the bat you must absolutely move in close and interrupt the swing and disarm. This is as technical as you can get on format like this.

First, I would most certainly fight you for the right reasons such as if you were in my home, my studio or accosted me or my wife or some other poor unsuspecting person on the street. In my home I would most likely see you coming and that's what a 9 mm is for and I would probably only have to fire it once. In the studio-that's like my home and while I don't have a gun there are certainly a multitude of weapons for me to use if I think I might feel a need for one. Almost forty years of not just training in the studio but also real "hands on experience" against people with weapons including guns, knives and clubs gives me a big edge over that Louisville slugger and someone that needs to bring that to a fight.
As for how, I certainly would not move back trying to dodge a weapon that has some reach and generates most of its power out there at the end like a bat does and give you repetitive chances to hit that home run and me running out of room to maneuver. I would move in, before the bat ever got around blocking on your hands and wrists and throw knees, and elbows while taking control of the wrists and arms holding the bat. From there it is not hard to take a bat away if you know how and you have nullified the advantage of the first and foremost danger-the weapon and gained control of the wrists. Once that is accomplished and I have the bat then I am up to the plate.

If i had a choice, No, if it was unavoidable or you did something that was unforgiveable, then yeah, even if you had a bat and are crazy
How, don't know depends what you do, but probably block your blows from the bat with my arms, quickly hit you in either the groin or the throat and then close the distance and do my best to either tangle your arm up and disarm you or take you down to the ground, i may get a nasty bruise on my arm from the bat but it wont be nothing compared to what I will do to you for firstly fighting with a weapon against someone who is unarmed and secondly someone who is smaller then you and thirdly doesnt want to fight
And if you really could smash me I'd just do as much damage to you as I can before you knock me out, maby break your arm, or break some fingers or something, then it would still be alright

if you became a threat to me i would neutralize you.
if your just standing around acting tough and talking trash, id leave you to it, as i would no doubt, have other more important things to be concerned with.
if it was unavoidable, as in being under attack or boxed in...
depends on their grip on the bat, if its at the bottom like a base ball player, circling to put their favored hand away would be a start, closing in when they prepare to swing where the ranged weapon is a ineffective, strikes to the head and arms would follow until your incapacitated.
if thier grip is spread then, i dunno i would probably come straight in on an angle, trying to close out the hands by attacking at the shoulder/elbow/wrist to twist them out and get the weapon away, strikes to body/back of head would follow until incapacitated.
if they are quick to turn and follow the circling then maybe a front leg kick at legs to distract then if that provokes a slight guard drop, some thing over the top closing out the arms, then head butt/elbows over the top untill incapacitated.
i would rather use hands than a weapon unless the other person has a serious weapon like a sword/spear/staff, then id rather a spear or sword.
oh, and this is not 'karata martiasl arts jujitsu' its what i know, a mix of kung fu, tai chi and karate.
regardless, id rather a stick than a bloody metal baseball bat, even against one :/

All these answers are good. Are you thinking of being an MMA fighter or are you already? Do you go into bars and fight on Saturday night? Usually I find that people that ask this question have either beat the crap out of weekend martial artists or rednecks in a bar. They have yet to actually attack a true martial artist. I ran into a similar situation at an Expo. One of the observers was walking by and asked if I wanted to fight..... obviously I told him I didn't want to fight but would if I had too. Totally baffled he walked on and was about to ask my teacher but thought better of it. My teacher is a high ranking black sash...... and studied under Master Star way back when. As far as telling you HOW I would defend myself...... what am I stupid?

Sure, why not, if I had to. I'd approach it as I would approach anything. I would use muscle blocks so your bat didn't break any bones, and we do some training with this sort of thing, so I wouldn't be surprised at the pain from blocking a baseball bat. I would probably fight really 'dirty' though, but I probably do that anyway by most standards.

Would I fight you?
No, there would be no fight,I would go straight for your eyes, your family jewels next, and when you fell to the ground I would kick you around like a soccer ball til you were unconscious.
Next I would tie you to a tree, with your face nestled against the bark and make sure you were far enough away from civilization your chance of survival would depend entirely on your will to live and true strength from wtihin.
I also have anger problems

Here's the thing..
I practice this little thing called EVASION.
And with a big guy like you holding a big metal bat, I doubt speed will be on your side.
So, IF you attacked me, I will defend myself. It's called self-defense. It doesn't involved hurting you, merely getting the weapon from your hand and pinning you down so you won't hurt anyone else.
And i don't think you have anger problems.,.
I think you just need a friend. hehehe.. ^_^
Rock on dude,.

HELL NO!, what's the matter with you??
Bigger and taller does not worry me much, but a baseball bat and anger problems are a recipe for jail time.
Now, why are you mad at me? I'm very diplomatic so there must be a problem.
If you were mad at me, had a baseball bat and wanted to smash me....... consider that I might have a gun, defend myself and end your life.
Anger can be very damaging my friend, learn to control it, I learned years ago.
good luck!

i am glad you have anger problems because that makes you a lot easier to beat than a calm thinking person.the fact tht you have a bat in your hands just gives me something to hit you with after i have taken it away from you.i would not try and hit you if you posed no threat, but rest assured ,if you were to pose a threat you would be looking up at a crowd very fast.
