I am wanting to put together a care package to send to my boyfriend who is in basic training for the Army, but I wanted to make sure and check if there's anything that they're not allowed to receive. Thanks!

Want to be on the safe side? Send nothing but mail. Any personal stuff he needs he can buy at the post exchange.
Send food, they'll make him eat it while the rest of his platoon does pushups. This is all part of the basic training process.
Wait until he gets in AIT. Things are much more relaxed there.
Yoiur intentions are appreciated, just hold off awhile.

Ok it is time to change banks, get a national bank that has branches everywhere. Get your husbands and your direct deposit info down. It is 2012 and the Army does not play with mom and pop banks that have issues with electronic deposits. Also, you will get BAH when you go to Basic so your husband can pay the rent and bills while you are away. If you do not want to give your whole paycheck to him open two accounts. Yours and the one you share, have your checks deposited into your account then have an automatic transfer after the funds have been received. We told soldiers this on deployment when they wanted a few dollars in their account when they got back and put their wives on a budget. There have been many a soldier that have gotten out of BCT and noticed that their bank accounts had nothing in them.

Don't send anything except frequent letters and possibly ordinary photos. Always assume his instructors are opening his mail, reading his letters and going through his photos while laughing about it.

Care packages are the kind of thing you'd send to a serviceman deployed overseas who may be lacking certain comforts there. In training, the military will make sure you have everything you need - recruits are training for war, they need to learn to tolerate living without creature comforts. When they're deployed, that's when it's a good idea to treat them for the sake of morale.

No food, porn or girls etc nothing fun like that … try to keep it simple; letters for reading and maybe some pictures (risky is ok but no nudes). Care packages are nice but wasted for the most part wile in training, it may be different in the Army but I seriously doubt it.

Like most said, no nude photos, knives, drugs (legal or illegal), tobacco, or alcohol. However, you can send cookies and baked items that will ship well. Just remember to bake enough for the whole company as he will have to share.

Take all advice everyone gives you! When my husband went to basic, all i sent was letters, pictures and phone cards. Supportive letters and pictures will get him through his time of basic. He will be able to call every now and then....so take take those calls and let him know how much u miss and love him. Good luck to u and remember to support him as much as u can.

No tobacco products. No knives, no porn or nude photos.
No explosive either. No music since he shouldn't have anything to listen to it with.
Just send him letters and some nice photos.
