I was hesitant to use a blanket until my baby was older. You can buy a sleep sack--those are WONDERFUL! It's fleece, soft, cozy, and zips from the top down so that baby can't get it undone.

I usually put my kids into blanket sleepers so I didn't need to be concerned that the blanket would be kicked off when the child moved around. I've found that the crochet and knit blankets from friends have holes that the little fingers can get caught in. They're okay for when the child is on your lap or when you're taking them somewhere, though.

My youngest daughter has continuously enjoyed a blanket next to stand together as i could rock her to place her to sleep. From with regard to the time she grew to become into 8 months outdated, i could positioned her in her crib after she fell asleep with the blanket on her cheek. a jiffy later, when I knew she settled in, i could take it out. She is now a year outdated, and that i've got only began to enable her sleep with a easy receiving blanket. I examine on her some situations throughout the evening only to make optimistic she does not have it on her face. (she regularly only cuddles with it, or tosses it aside on the different edge of the crib, (and to whisper to her that i admire her. :)

Should be ok now just make sure you put his feet so they touch the end of the crib so he cant wriggle underneath it and tuck it into the sides.
