1.troops home from Iraq to protect our borders north and south east and west
2.strictly enforce current laws for knowingly hiring an illegal with much larger fines
3.fine (smaller amounts) those who unknowingly hire illegals,
make them work harder to be sure about who they hire
4.those illegals in the country now must apply for legal immigration (this can be done without leaving the country)
to gain that legal immigration status they must pay a fine or in lieu of fine perform community service, military service, job corp, something in the line of the conservation corp from the depression era et-cetra. there is a ton of work that needs to be done in our communities.
5.all illegal immigrants must have background check - felony conviction here or homeland and they are deported, misdemeanors handled case by case
6.all immigrants must read write and speak English or be enrolled and satisfactorily progressing in classes to learn
7.increase the national minimum wage to $10.00 per hour to eliminate the supposed low paying "degrading" jobs
8.require social service and medical providers to do due diligence to check on legal status of all clients
9.any immigrant who is charged with a felony is deported if not convicted can reapply
10.any illegal immigrant who fails to apply for legal status is deported

Illegal immigrants should be given the choice of either going through the legal immigration process and becoming citizens or deportation back to whatever country they came from. Illegal aliens who are granted amnesty should be fined and forced to do community service, and possibly imprisoned for a while as a punishment for not immigrating legally. Perhaps they could also be forced to pay higher taxes for the first few years after they become citizens to make up for not paying taxes before they became citizens. I've heard that it is a very difficult and lengthy process to immigrate legally, so they should also make some improvements to the process so it will be more effiecient. If it were easier to immigrate legally, I doubt many people would find it necessary to enter the country illegally. Also, the government should start cracking down on companies that hire illegal immgrants.

The solution relies upon accepting that the word illegal is still an acceptable term & a principal that made the USA great.
Treat criminals like criminals, there should be NO POLITICAL exceptions. If that has to be the case, have the law changed, or we run the risk of following a LAW a historical behavior.
Quite saying- But I like the people. It is a cancer... Murderers, but I like the people. Drunk Drivers, but I like the people..See!
Next don't say--This is different, it is an excuse for furthering the violations.
Become serious, if we don't change in a hurry we wont have a country to save. I hear we don't have enough people to do the jobs, another " THEY SAY ". Quit killing our babies and we will have more people.
Throw the employers in jail and fine them, right up to the multi million dollar directors of corporations. Charge our Govt. Officials with treason and jail them too if they are blatant violators. At a minimum, throw officials out of their positions.
Governors that violate the law with their own contradictory laws should be arrested, fined, and jailed as well as thrown out of office. Would we allow a state to deal drugs next?
If we close off the jobs, take away the social freebies, a self deportation process will begin.
Let the ILLEGALS go and fight their own governments, USA is not a garbage can for other countries.

This issue was very simple to deal with, but the politician and some corporation make it harder to resolve. In these days America cannot do anything in anyhow, because we should stay as a great example for the rest of the world. About this issue ...
1) America is a nation of law, that's mean is not good to accept more than 12 million people living in the US illegally and more, we don't know who they are.
2) America is the greatest country in the world, not only in military forces but in values and opportunities, so take 12 million people and deport all of them would be the craziest thing that America will do in its history as nation, that's animosity.
It's easier for a simple person to say deport all of them than an electable one, because two wrongs don't make a right. One of the solutions is to be fair and though in regard to this immigration issue.
It's impossible to legalize someone with a criminal background but also it's inhuman to separate a child from his parents if they don't have a criminal record, or a spouse from his relative as well.
Immigrate in the US it's all about times, even in the early and late 19's there was a lot of people from everywhere in the world who came here illegally and they cooperate to make this country the greatest in the world!

Just enforce the laws on the books, and fine and jail the employers that hire them. We could also stop processing new applications for new legal immigrates until we solve the illegal immigration problem

This could be a new source of income for the US. I understand we have a million illegals. If We fine them have it deducted by the non compliant employers we could make back the losses.
I totally appose sinking billions in putting a fence at the border. I am also apposed to the expense of deportation of millions.
I would feel comfortable having them line up and turn in who was employing them giving them the job back but this time they must have taxes deducted no paying under the table and at the fair market wage. Then deduct the fine from the pay and fine the employer.
As it stands they are left with out jobs now and what alternatives remain for someone with no money to pay rent or eat. When a person is hungry they are justifiably desperate. Why or how could you do this to another human being.

It won't ever ENTIRELY stop. Not unless we completely shut our country off from everyone. Which for obvious reasons we won't. There are ways to stem the flow. But I doubt you want to read a novel.
