This is normal, so, just relax. he's fine.
There's just so much going on, but you will hear from him probably very soon.
You may think, " why doesn't he write in his spare time?" Well, you get so precious little of it, and all you want to do with it is rest.
Above all, do not call.
You might want to call the local Marine recruiter and ask him how soon you might expect to hear from him I might add, you will be mighty proud of your son the next time you see him.

on top of all the usual Marine Corps fun, their base at Camp Pendleton [north end of San Diego County] was overrun by wildfire.
The Marines stationed there had to be temporarily evacuated to somewhere and one of the somewheres available was the Boot Camp base down in the city. So even normally busy Boot Camp was disrupted.
Breathe. You'd be told if anything was seriously wrong and since you haven't been told, nothing is.

perhaps his grandfather/father have been the two Marines who went to San Diego then. we've 2 generations of Marines on my edge and my husband that each and all and sundry went to San Diego. Our sons in the event that they decide directly to connect, can pass to MCRD San Diego like their father/grandfather. If that clause remains in consequence while the little ones are grown. Now, if our daughters decide directly to connect, then her in basic terms decision may be Parris Island. no one right here can permit you realize precisely why he's there except you ask him your self.

Hi
I had a cousin who was in the Marines a few years ago, and for the first few weeks we didn't hear from him. He also went to San Diego. He wrote letters a lot. They are VERY busy, and the training is very intense, so try not to panic if you don't hear from him sometimes.

It's pretty normal, my son just graduated a couple of weeks ago from MCRD, usually by the third or 4th week, you will get your first most welcomed letter from him. It's a tough -readjusting time for him, give him 1000% encouragement, he will need it. Let me know if you would like for me to share more with you about the experience.. Good Luck to your son! He will make it.
It's true about doing push ups for mail as Tiffany mentioned but beleive me, he will gladly push up MCRD for one or 100 letters from home!

What ever you do don't freak out...by the way the more letters you send, the more push ups he is probably doing. In bootcamp, my husband had to do extra push ups for every piece of mail he wanted. So if you don't want to wear him out completely, let him write you, and then respond. Hope this helped.

I believe it's normal. It such shell shock being in bootcamp period. You constantly are busy. Give him a bit more time and I'm sure you'll here something but it might not be until he's able to make his first phone call. Don't worry, he's in good hands.
