You have to enforce the rule of law as it relates to the border and you have to enforce the rule of law as it relates to benefits. Then the American people will be open to resolving the issue as it relates to what industry needs and what immigrant advocates need."

We did not lose control of our borders as much as the business interest and the crowd in Washington had a secret pack that agree to look the other way for both their benefits. The main problem is when the bill came due for their pack, it was handed to the American middle class to ante up. I do not think we have any obligation to address the needs of the immigrants or their advocates, being they are here at our invitation, and need to address our needs not theirs

The United States is a capitalist nation. It is industry not government that sets policy. As long as industry demands cheap labor the will be an undocumented worker problem.

Becuase the american govt. dosent want to secure the border. Simple

The reason: cheap labor equals millions of dollars

Americans love to live in the suburbs and have cheap fruts but once mexicans have a better life like a decent home and school for there kids, they get all mad

I see both sides of the coin and the right wing makes no scense.

I love how the republicans make more excuses....first terorrist, the the idea of illegals taking all free public servise,

Mexicans have been imigrating to this country since president polk stoled half of mexico and america never tried to stop it

Fact: mexico and u.s are next door neightboors and nothing can change that.

Here is a crazy idea....help mexico have a better govt. to make more jobs so mexicans won't move here...and if you say that's not our problem then why are you asking this question??

The Mexicans are leaving Seattle, The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries, threatened to jail DR Horton Builders superintendents for hiring subcontractors with Illegal immigrants. the next day all Mexicans were gone. it was that easy. I worked with some of them and they said they were going home. Mexico and some from Central America. We don't have to build fences at the border. Most of the Contractors paying Mexicans cash under the table are breaking felony tax laws, and they will quit hiring illegals if they are cracked down on. Its the only thing that works. Fences are for concentration camps not for America.

Because there is a modicum of compassion in every human being, even when its contained in a super power.

People who just want to move to another country for better prospects or to fulfil certain dreams can do so within the legal boundaries of the law. When they fully realize that they are breaking the law, run the risk of deportation and suffer hardships to come to a country, it is because they are running away from some unresolvable and unbearable problems in their home country. They could be running because they have committed crimes in their own country, but the more common reasons are starvation, oppression, and basically, desperation. Desperate people take desperate measures. It does not make illegal immigrants right in their decision, it just makes the decision understandable.

Everything costs money. Just because we are a superpower doesn't mean we burn money on stupid things. Enforcing certain immigration laws isn't in the interest of industry, human rights activists, and several other groups, therefore, it doesn't happen.

And try to post original material rather than borrowing quotes.

If the American people were given the right to solve the problem it would not be a problem because we would arm ourselves and guard the borders ourselves to the death! The Democrats will never let that happen because they want to cater to them to get the votes!
