I recently installed an older version of Nero. When it was uncompatible with Vista I tried to uninstall in the control panel, but it wasn't there. When I manually deleted all of the files associated, the size of my C: drive remains the same. Why if I deleted the files, won't my memory increase to the pre-Nero installation?

If you mean the available disk space didn't increase, here are two reasons why that might happen:

1. Files deleted from Windows Explorer (My Computer) may go to the Recycle bin. While there, they're still occupying unavailable space on the disk.
2. Some files, even after being deleted from the Recycle Bin, are kept around to be saved with the next System Restore point. These won't be fully released until System Restore is cleared one cycle AFTER the restore point they're saved in. Among the files that fall into this category are executables (.exe, .dll) which are often quite large.

Hope that helps.

you're probable working XP to get considered one of those message. If the game is working ok then there is not any undertaking different than the warning message. digital memory is a chew of no longer ordinary stress memory which would be used as (slow) RAM if there is not any longer adequate RAM accessible. regardless of if increasing the quantity of RAM does not end the warnings in my adventure. attempt this: Set a fix factor first, then: initiate, laptop, gadget residences, stronger gadget settings, overall performance, - Settings, stronger, digital memory, - exchange. Then do away with the max and min values and choose (gadget controlled length). click on ok, or practice, or regardless of it tells you to do, then do a gadget restart to make it stick. abode windows won't provide you the warning anymore and each little thing will artwork ok. interior the unlikely journey that it does not you're able to do a gadget fix and get the undertaking lower back! Deleting information can't assist you. wish that helps, Bob.

Try to find it again in the control panel / add or remove programs.
When we remove any program manually, there still some hide file you can't reach it.
Also I checked Nero had small size only 2.2MB, maybe it removed and you didn't notice

In addition to the answers above:

It also matters how you deleted it. It may be a simple thing, but if you manually deleted the files did you remember to empty the Recycle Bin? Windows maintains your data (and thus still uses up space) until you empty it.

To do this Right Click on the Recycle Bin on your desktop and Left Click on 'Empty'.

By convention, 'memory' is the word that refers to the RAM that is installed in your computer.

If you noticed the directory into which the Nero program attempted to install, you might want to have another look at that directory using the command line (Press Win+R; Type:cmd; Press: Enter).

You may also want to look in your user profile's AppData directory.

memory has nothing to do with hard drive space.

maybe you mean that your disk space doesnt increase? if thats the case then it wont, it cant. the max capacity of a drive cannot increase by deleting files.

uninstall control panel??!?! do not do
