I have a blister from soccer when I got kicked really hard in the shoe right on my pinky toe from about one or two weeks ago.

The blister is no longer in pain. The blister opened a while ago but I didn't think it wasn't bleeding or anything because I didn't see any blood on my sock or feel anything moist on it. Now it's swollen, purple, a little itchy..

I know it could be infected, I plan on going to my school nurse tomorrow and seeing what she thinks of it. Right now, I'm just rubbing tiger balm on it to hold off anything bad for now. What should I do to treat this?

Has the top of the blister fallen off? Just bare skin? If not, peel off the dead skin. Soak for 10 minutes in good hot epson salts & water. Then apply neosporin to the toe, bandage it and don't wear a shoe again until the dr. says it's okay.

Your toe is broken, and possibly infected on top of it. Sweetheart, I'm not trying to be a meanie here, but why didn't you have the brains to keep an open sore out of athletic shoes. Can you REALLY think of something more full of germs than an athletic shoe. And you're going rub all that into an open sore?

I'm sure you know this, being an athlete and all, but I'll repeat it for everyone to read. This is what you do when you have a sports injury. In your case, you have to go see the dr. anyway.

RICE

R - Rest
I - Ice, 20m on, 20m off
C - Compression - bandage or tape, not too tight.
E - Elevate - higher than your heart.

Try not to walk on it (use the other part of your foot) and show it to your mom TODAY.
