I have exactly the same problem. No idea why, but I'll come back to see if you get good answers.

You are experiencing Gustatory Rhinorrhea. No one knows why it happens. Some think it's a reflex action in response to the temperature of the food. Others thnk it's a response to the actions of chewing and swallowing.
I'm 58 and it just started with me. I lean towards the temperature theory since mine runs more with ice cream, but it also runs when eating dry cereal.
The good news is you can treat it with a good nasal spray or take an antihistamine an hour before eating. These can affect you differently so find the one that works best for you. Don't take the pills and use the nasal spray together! You won't like what happens.
Also don't use one exclusively not use them all the time. Best if you just use them for social settings.

total guess but im only 14, your body produces saliva when you have a sense of food around or anything that appeals to your tastebuds. since your nose and mouth are connected small amounts of saliva could be going to your nose therefore causing it to run ;)

You're either allergic to a spice/herb or ingredient that is in the food, or else you have a cold?

I'm 68 and mine runs like a faucet EVERY time I eat and worse as soon as I finish eating. I eat no spices, not even pepper. Welcome to my club.
