You have to make a lifestyle change. If you want to lose weight you're going to have to eat a better diet and exercise. The choice of exercise is up to you. It doesn't have to be running. You could do swimming, soccer, walking with a dog, or a bunch of other things. If there was a more simple way to lose weight then most people wouldn't be exercising and watching what they eat.

Running or walking.

Really, why should you be good at it if you have a gut? You're not gonna burn enough calories any other way, you'll just have to suffer through it. And of course as you get in better shape(and you will if you routinely run and try hard) then you'll get better at running. No one is good at something when they first start, you have to train and practice.

I mean sure you could do sit ups and lift weights, but that's really just gonna build muscle, not burn a lot of fat. Swimming is good excercise and is good alternative to running, but only if you do laps and swim till you're out of breath repeatedly(still not as good as running though). Biking is supposedly a good alternative too, but again it's not gonna burn as many calories.

It's going to be painful, but everyone else experiences the same pain and they can do it so you can too.

The best exercise is the one you enjoy the most. If you enjoy it, you will be more likely to stay with it and make it part of your lifestyle.

I have been a runner for 30 years. I still look forward to a good run on a cool, crisp fall morning.

Also, diet is important. Don't think about "going on a diet" ...think about changing the way you eat.

Stop eating ???

BTW, who says you have to be good at something to do it??? Without additional information, my conclusion is a motivation or laziness problem....

Good Luck
