blacks and other minorities in NASCAR? Is this the same
operation that occured prior to 1948 in sports. They don't
want to be the best in the sport , but only to be the best
white person in the sport!

Bif Y : It wasn't intended to be a racist
question. I asked this as an
observance. Similar problems
has been noticed with golf. It
takes money and sponsorship
to play golf, and same to race
cars. Most females and minor-
ities aren't being supported by
businesses, but females and
minorities spend good money
with these companies.

MD I am a fan, why do you think I've
noticed this. There are 300MIL
Americans at least 1/2 are minorities and women. Sounds
"fishy" to me!

Fluffy. There are white rappers, and
mind you, doing very well with
support from all! They all are
not the best but still doing
very well!

Guys like Brad Daugherty and the late Reggie White have and had been working on that. It takes time. The number trying to get in is pretty low right now.
Watch for Chad Austin though. Though my gate doesn't swing that way, he seems like a good-looking guy to me, he's young, and most of all, he has a BIG mouthpiece in Rusty Wallace promoting. THAT'S HUGE.

I suppose you might be right but it sounds like your the typical NA$CAR poster that comes in and tries to start something. I guess the other nationalities other than south Americana's can't get er done.
Willie T Ribs tried it for years backed by Bill Cosby and he couldn't make it. I think if there was a driver out there that could pull it off he or she would be there. You know Nike would love to get there mitt's in on that action.
I just think they aren't interested right now. Wait until the rap pack see the light and start investing there un worthy millions that they have made off of that garbage from dumb a#* white kids.
I doubt if you have been to a race let alone try to make it in racing but it is hard. I do not care what form you want to talk too. Your are spending thousands if you want to get started in a worth while armature series like SCCA not your local round track but some place that some one might see you. I didn't have the extra cash sitting around so I built a track on a acre of land in the back and now I can race when I wish unless it's too muddy and I can run my tri oval or my road course till the cows come home.
Frankly though I never thought much about your accusation but I am not a racist either.
The one person said that they pick the best drivers well I know they don't I'm sorry they sort of do. If you are ok driver and good looking and you are a great driver and ugly guess what the ungly guy stayes back at his local 1/2 mile track for the rest of his life while the so so driver who is marketable for the sponsors gets a free ride in life and all the practice he needs to be come a good driver.
But any way you are wrong and probably should be reported for trying to start some racist crap.

NASCAR doesn't do affirmative action. You get in by winning at the lower levels and being in the right place at the right time to get noticed. Yes there are guys at your local short track that are every bit as good as some Cup guys. They just never got noticed.

Very few blacks or women race compared to white males. Its just a fact of percentages and nothing more. If more would become involved in racing more would end up in NASCAR, F1, NHRA, and all the other major racing series.

Don't forget Bill Lester, Willy T. Ribbs, and Shana Robinson. They have all run NASCAR races at one point. None had great success which makes it hard to stick around. Lester has done well in the Truck series.

Gloria said it best. How many minorities are TRYING to get into NASCAR. It is such a hot topic right now, they are looking and trying to get some talent in but you cant MAKE someone drive just becaus people like you think there HAS to be a minority driver. And I think most people would follow and be fans as well as there being plenty of sponsors willing to finance. Obviously you are not a fan or would be aware of all of this.

With the severe end ingredients, i might get broken baggage from distributers. With the better end ingredients in shelters, I kinda verify out it like- why swap the ingredients around greater- in general those canines are on technology weight loss plan, tossing in some weeks of Orijen may be like putting off an a-bomb of their colon. it would be superb if Orijens breeder application substitute into prolonged to fosters, at this element i don't think of it rather is.

You are asking a loaded Question! So I'll give it to you the way YOU want it. No, Nascar does not want any minority drivers in it. It is strictly an unwritten rule, or conspiracy, if you want to call it that. The sponsors don't want to sell there products to minorities because their money is not as good as that of a white males!
So I would say your right!

Who says they don't? There are minorities with sponsors in NASCAR. Any driver who is good enough to get a team to hire them will then get sponsors. Color does not matter. Maybe you should ask how many blacks and other minorities are actually out there trying to get into NASCAR?

Sposors have helped Black Men and Women in Nascar Many many times in the Past they arent now because their arent any women or Blacks driving at this time. Ever Heard of Dial & Purex Soap-- Waste Management--Polaroid Film--Rhodes Furniture??? These Big Sponsors have helped in the past!!!!

Racing isn't as popular among many minority groups yet. That is changing, and once it does you'll see more and more minorities in the sport.

Nascar drivers are picked by ability not race. A good driver makes millions for a car owner and sponsor. A driver of any race who could win would be sponsored. Sponsors don't make good drivers, good drivers are sponsored. The best drivers are currently racing.
