Nope I am right there with you.

I don't mind freedom of speech but freedon of stupidity whould be outlawed...lol

ADDITION: By the way the war isnt unjust or illegal and definatley is winnable.

They violated 12 UN resolutions and the Cease fire agreement. We were more than justified. It is not our fault that the UN Doesn't have the balls to back up their own resolutions and left it up to us. It is probably the fact that Koffe annon's son was too busy making money off the oil for food program for his dad to get behind actually backing up the resolutions.

Have you read the news latley? Over 36k iraqi's have returned back to Iraq this month over 3000 families to bahgdad. Civilian deaths have been steadily going down over the last few months as have the Troops deaths.

But the liberal media didnt focus on those facts their front page story was how 2007 was the deadliest year. Why focus on the good stuff when you can burry it on page 5 snd 6?!

By the way I have a hard time believing polls that say the Iraqis dont want us there. I was always greeted by people shaking my hand and thanking me for being there. What you see on the TV is distorted becuase the liberal news knows the general American public can't understand what it is like there unless you have actually been there.

The Lib companies understand that they'd use those scumbags to unfold their lies by using fact opportunities are high that no person will examine the story. For any employer to apply a mislead sully the recognition of the combating forces of america is morally incorrect and repulsive.those comparable companies continuously proclaim their "ideal" to loose speech;the comparable ideal it somewhat is being risk-free with the aid of the defense force of america.

I think most anti-war posters recognize your sacrifice and that you did your duty. The war, however .... Is Iraq better off now than it was under Saddam. Well, polls of Iraqis would say a resounding no. Is the world safer now than before the invasion, again I have trouble seeing how anyone could feel that it is. So if Amercians are less safe and Iraqis are worse off how can you not understand the anti-war viewpoint. And that is before adding those of your commarades who have died in this conflict. I can't see how their sacrifice accomplished anything. I feel exactly the same about those that died in Vietnam or Korea. Those wars did not advance freedom one iota and ravaged their countries.

I could buy it all if it was retribution for 9/11 or protection agains weapons of mass destruction but everyone now knows (or at least I hope they know) that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and did not have any WMDs or WMD programs. Was it worth it just to depose Saddam Hussein? I suspect not.

b.t.w. The war has increased international anti-US sentiments about ten fold so the international community thinks it was a bad thing to do, invading Iraq.

p.s. I say this with all due respect to the US armed forces. I despise those that call soldiers baby killers and the like. The soldiers are doing their duty, making their sacrifices and Americans should be proud of and support their troops. You can, however suypport the troops and oppose the war.

I haven't read many military posts.

Personally, I'm against the war. I despise war, and this one in particular. I do though, support the troops.

I'm a veteran. 4 years active, about 2 1/2 in the guard before a medical discharge. I haven't joined the American Legion, but I could if I chose; I'm a wartime vet. I've had friends serving in both Gulf wars.

I think it's totally reasonable to be anti-war, and to support the troops. I think we should bring this war to an end as soon as possible. I think we went into it under false pretenses. It's been shown that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. It's been shown that they had no WMD. We shouldn't have been there. But that is a political discussion that has nothing to do with the support of the troops.

If I were still in the military, it is likely that I would have been sent to Iraq at least once. I would have gone, as my commander in chief would have sent me. Whatever my views are, he is still in charge, and it is wrong to not follow a lawful order.

I hope that you can understand that being against the war does not imply that one is against the troops.

First off, let me say I have immense respect and admiration for people in the armed forces. I am the daughter of a former Marine, a granddaughter of a Vietnam vet, and have many other family members who have and are in the service. However, sometimes people who are for the war in Iraq have trouble differentiating between those who don't support the war and those who don't support the troops. Yes, there IS a difference. We may not support the war, but we still hope that soldiers like you come home safe and are saddened at the unnecessary loss of young lives that this fruitless war has caused. It's not that we don't appreciate you risking your life and making those sacrifices, we just don't think this war is necessary and has done a lot more harm than good.

You are not the only Veteran that looks at Q&A I am a disabled Viet Nam vet 82nd Airborne Infantry 1968 -69.and we went through as you are most likely to young to remember very very much anti war sentiments.and in lots of ways Iraq is alot like Viet Nam no clear enemy,no clear objective to win,no exit strategy, no win situation.Dont get me wrong i support the troops whole heartedly and my son is there in Iraq 3 rd time the way George W went about it was the problem to hunt them down and smoke them out, well we didnt hunt down Bin Laden in Iraq for hes not there we didnt question the oil family The Saudis about there involvement in 9/11 since 11 of the 15 hijackers were from Saudi.right reason maybe wrong way difenitely.so dont take it personal when people stand up for what they believe even if we dont agree its there right and you defended there right to have there opinion.I salute you God bless

My husband is a veterans just like you, and I'm a active duty service member. Some people never learned that freedom was a right that military members have fought for. They believe that it is something that was given to them for free. Which all military members know is not true. Don' worry about what these people think they will soon learn that freedom does not come free. It is people like you and I who have given them that right and keep giving them that right.

It's not that they don't get it. It's that they can't sell it. Their point of reference is the groves of academe and the elitist centers of "punditry" which lie on the Eastern and Western seaboards. In that arena they preach to the already converted and take from the experience a mistaken notion that the rest of the country feels the same way.
Even their "esteemed" polls are weighted for population which results in a skewed sample from the two population belts of those two seaboards.

I'm not a vet, so I can't answer this question, really, I guess.

But to me you are not getting it. There are different kinds of wars and some are stupid. WWII was a war that had to be fought. Vietnam was a rather stupid war because it accomplished nothing except generating some great music.

The conflict in which America is involved now cannot be considered a war, to me. If you can count the number of dead every day and name them; it is not a war. This conflict to me is stupid because it will accomplish nothing.

Just like in Vietnam we will fold our tents someday and leave, and the strongest will assume power no matter what we say, and nothing will be accomplished except the expenditure of vast amounts of money and the loss of lives for no reason.

War is the Answer to keep our freedom and show the world were not wusses. Anti-War people do not understand that if you want freedom blood must be shed. WW1, WW2, Vietnam are prime examples though we lost Vietnam because they pulled out.

Thank you for serving the country and I respect you.
