They are people! They have souls! And they deserve a chance! I know that the Bible says that homosexuallity is an abomination! So I agree on that 100%! But at the same time, I do not agree with hating them, or calling them names, ect. That is just plain wrong! I believe that all who repent and pick up their cross can be saved! That includes Atheists, Satan worshippers whatever! Once you make up your mind that you want to be saved and you are will to pick up your cross you can be saved! I also know it takes committment! and thats what I mean by picking up your cross! Saul was a man who hated Christians! He percecuted them relentlessly. But guess what? He was forgiven! And not only that, he became a great man of God! THE APOSTLE PAUL!!! When it comes to God, Impossible does not exist! Anyone who tries to add the word impossible to the Biblical registry will get a serious error message!

I never said atheists are Satan worshippers! I'm saying that both can be forgiven! I never meant it to sound like they are both the same!

BAMAMBA= Then why did you answer it? You are a horrible judge of character! I am defending people who are condemned and given no chance in the minds of those who want to add the word IMPOSSIBLE to everything. Most who believe in God knows that nothing is impossible. But some want to say that this person will never make it and that person will never make ect. ect.

Are you asking a question or setting yourself up to tell us the answer? This looks like a rant, not a question.

Hey!
I agree with what you're saying.
I think that Homosexuality is based in the shame of rejection. When you reject Homosexuals on moral grounds, you re-inforce their identity. On the other hand, accepting them in the sense of condoning their life-style also re-enforces their identity.
I think the thing to do is be friendly, to not be judgmental. There are ways to let people know your views on morality and sin without passing judgment on them.
Of course if they ask you, you can be open and honest about your views on the matter, and the basis for your views. Even though the majority of Americans think Homosexuality is wrong, there may be Homosexuals who are deceived by the Media into thinking this has become socially acceptable. If this happens you might find yourself being judged by Them. If that happens it can be difficult to make head way, at least initially. The thing to do is to model Christ, be patient and kind, but stand for the truth.
Our society right now is in a moral decline because of the sick and twisted people who make our Entertainment and publish our books and magazines. This means that the people that should be championing the solution are actually part of the problem. There have been other eras of moral corruption in America. Think of Slavery, and the corruption of the 1890's the 'Boss Tweed' era. In the early 1900's in New York City women who protested dangerous and unhealthy work conditions were routinely beaten by the police, sometimes crippled or disfigured as a result. Think of the Old West, judges hanging people for snoring, etc. Things have been bad before, but decency and righteousness can always make a come back, if God's people are patient and brave. As Shakespeare says 'Truth will out.'

Tolerance, guitarman, tolerance. Yes, the Bible speaks of homosexuality as an abomination. But lets use another example: in the old testament a story is presented in which a dying father's daughters sleep with him to preserve his lineage. Now if you actually went around suggesting society do that in order to preserve our ancestry (which is already befuddled now anyway) you would receive a ton of negative criticism not to mention it would only further the rage and anger many people feel.
If we as Christians harbor more on the love of Jesus Christ being open to anyone (age, race, monetary stature) and lead by reaching out to others we will be viewed less as bible-thumpers and more as loving and compassionate followers of a wonderful god.
When I think of God I get a peaceful, serene feeling where no matter what mistakes I've made today, no matter how many hurtful things I have said, I know I will be forgiven. Let's focus more on the love of god and how amazingly divine his power is instead of the negative.
I hope this helps. And it's great to come across an insightful question on this site instead of the stuff usually ask!

I think christians should not judge people by what they do in the privacy of their bedrooms. After all, who knows what goes on in some christian bedrooms. God understands why people are the way they are, and why they have chosen a certain path. Everyone answers to God themselves. To hate people, isolate them, and judge them is a far greater sin than that of those with an unconventional life style. That is what drives many people away from organized religion. A cold, judgemental christian is a stumbling block to the pathway of discovering the Father, Son, and Holy spirit.

Plain & simple.Anyone who hates another person cannot be a mature christian. As christians we are to have mercy & love for others.Yes God hates homosexual sin BUT he very much loves the homosexual person.Remember God had mercy & love for us so we are to do the same for others when we evangelize. You are right nothing is impossible with God.Sadly there are alot of people in this world who claim to be christians but really don't live a Christ like life.So not everyone who says they are a christian really is one.Sometimes our actions speak louder than words!

The flaw with this is if its a sin, then prayer would cure it.
I know a woman who was homosexual purely in orientation, but was scared by the damnation of the church, so was chaste. My mom was the prayer leader of the church, so helped this woman for years, praying with her nearly every Sunday. It was almost 10 years with this woman being chaste and living a life dedicated to God, and nothing changed.
She ended up thinking that, if homosexuality is a sin according to the bible, and the bible is right, then God would free her of the sin as promised. Since God didn't free her from this sin, it means either A. The bible is wrong in general. B. Homosexuality isn't a sin or C. That God is not willing to help her.
Any of those three conclusions would drive her from Christianity. She is now not Christian because of it.

I'm a Christian and my best friend since age 12 is bi. I love her to this day every bit as much as I did before she came out. She's a sister to me. There are a lot of things in her life I wish I could change, like her tendency to date abusers and that she drinks too much, but no matter what she does I will always, always love her. Every person on earth deserves to be treated with dignity and love.

Because this is about the fifth post I've seen in the past hour that annoys me for the same reason, I'm going to share with you what the reason is. The idea of posting a question in Yahoo!Answers is supposed to be that you are actually interested in what other people have to say. By asking the question and then giving your own answer littered with exclamation points, you make it abundantly clear that you don't really care how anyone else would answer it. Do you think this is effective proselytizing? I don't think anyone is persuaded by it.

The bible also says that eating shellfish is an abomination. Do you keep away from red lobster?
Saul hated christians, fell from his horse and hit his head, and then transferred his hatred from christians to people who didn't follow what he said about christianity. Jesus never said a word about homosexuals, but had a lot to say about hypocrites - pretty telling, isn't it?

Calm down...no one,,,is saying a homosexual cannot be saved....of course they can,,,,but they must turn from their sins, the same way we all must do, and accept Jesus as their Savior. Once they are saved, they must not return to that sin, or they will be considered unreceptive,,,you must turn from your sin and not go back into it again...just like a fat person,,,must give up overeating,,,and eat normal....a child molester,,must never touch or look on a child with lust again....a thief must never steal again,,,a liar must stop lying.....we are all in the same boat....Gays are not special in a class by themselves,,,,but they are practicing the sin God called an abomination...so I would certainly think twice about returning to that sin, if I were them.
