I have no problem with ANYONE asking "controversial" questions in this, or any of the forums. But when they become insulting, or are purposely meant to "rile up" ANYBODY, those are against the YA Guidelines, and should be reported.
What I can't stand is when people purposely twist ideas, concepts, texts, and go on long, rambling nonsensical "questions" just to taunt others. They aren't trying to understand anything, they aren't trying to obtain opinions, they have not good intentions whatsoever.
It's not only the questioners, but the answerers, too. I cannot abide when others insult the person for even wanting to know, dismissing their curiousity, etc. It's just disrespectful... but hey... what's NEW around here?
My intent is to try to educate and inform with regard to the Christian viewpoint and theology. Unfortunately, some people view anything positive spoken about Christianity as "preaching" and trying to "convert" others, or "forcing it down" their throats... etc. I have yet to preach or attempt any converting... at least intentionally. However, when I express my Christian point of view, and it is an "unpopular" one... sorry, but I cannot help it being unpopular, but at the same time, I cannot deny the concept just because it's unpopular.
I have no problem with other religions and "spirituality" being discussed here... that's why they have this grouping. But the cross-hatred is unwarranted. But let's clear this one thing up.... telling someone they are wrong in their opinion is not hatred, it is disagreement.
Have a blessed day.

Tired of the arguments? nah, let's me know that I can't get riled up anymore which is a sign of growth.
I do wonder where the Christian Forum is you are talking about though. This is R & S. I would like to check out that site.
I also believe that as Christians we do get more flack. We were told we would. There are so many warnings about that. We should still always be ready to answer with the Hope that is withen us. Hang in there.
God Bless You and Strengthen you.

i am glad it is not a "christian only" section so that we can intelligently, rationally, and properly have a dialoge with those who are not Born Again, so they can see their need for Christ.
I just stay away from questions that lure believers into something that wastes our time. I only reply to the questions that can help other readers who are interested in the title of the question, or want to know what others think about it.
I think there are many religious people on the board (atheists included) who hate Christians, but why should that suprise us? Christ said the world hated him and so it will hate us too. The challenge is to reach them with the truth in a kind and proper way where they will learn something... afterall they didnt learn any real truth in college or school about God now did they?! LOL.

You said "I understand it's not a Christian forum, that's why this is called Yahoo! Answers....to get opinions from other people......get it???"
But your question asked ":Is anyone else tired of people trying to start arguments and rile others up in the Christian Forum?"
That's why people didn't think you understood that this is not a Christian forum because you refered to this as a Christian forum in your question. Get it ?

If people enjoy starting a firestorm, so be it. The really sad thing is that, that type of hate permeates their whole life. If instead of putting Christians down, these folks would try to find out where our joy comes from, they would have their lives changed as well. I can hear it know...NO WAY!!! Or something worse. But hey, all you have to do is read the 4th book of the New Testament, the book of John, and sort out earnestly what those pages are saying and revealing to all of you, you might well have you lives rocked to your core. It has happened to many unbelievers in the past and continues today. TRY it. What do you have to lose?

I could never tire of riling christians. They are sitting ducks after all. Of all the religions in the whole world it is the most absurd and requires a certain kind of person to believe such a ludicrous concept. Sorry; god would not send any son down to earth since he has no son. There is no mention in the first testament of it. It only comes up after the fact. Big deal. Then the three gods in one and the son is one of them.... what??? So why not just go down to earth yourself? Just silly. Then all that drama with the authorities... he was obviously just a political trouble maker. Then the bit about virgin births and resurrection. I mean really. How gullible do you expect normal thinking people to be. It is ridiculous beyond belief. If you think Mary and Joseph didn't fool around and make the baby cheeses then you have rocks in your head. The there is all that fuss when he's born and then nothing. If he was the messiah do you think he would have just lingered for 30 years without mobs outside his house bowing and scraping and worshipping all over the place. Life would have been unbearable for him if anyone really thought he was the real deal. All of a sudden he starts doing magic tricks and HOOPLAH!!!! he is the son of god!!! Do you have any idea how many messiahs there were in those days? Hundreds of them - over the years heaps of crazy guys claimed to be the so-called saviour. In any case he has not exactly succeeded in saving that many. Besides christians today are nothing like what he spoke of anyway. Do you think Jesus would approve of the Vatican or wealthy evangelists. I don't think so. He was jewish in any case and would not recognize the christian concept. He might even be pissed off that he was ignored. No... christianity makes no sense. People are not born from virgins and do not come back to life unless the did not really die. The bible was written by self-serving power seeking fools who changed one thing after another to suit themselves and the whole thing is a complete mess. The bible ignores the fact that Mary Magdoline was his favourite follower and she was in fact their leader. Yep. And Judas never betrayed jesus. He merely did his bidding and killed himself when Jesus got nabbed. Out of grief not guilt. It has all been distorted and screwed up. Then it has been rewritten many times since then - always by powerful men who wanted to impose their ideas on the people. sorry..... it is simply too hard to believe because it makes no sense to do so. Blind faith is the sort of thing that make people blow themselves up and murder others. It makes presidents do crazy things like murder hundreds of thousands of people FOR NOTHING. Tell you soldiers to trust Jesus but please..... don't expect me to fall for it.

I'm sorry. Which Christian forum would that be?
If you think this is supposed to be a Christian forum, could you please tell me what gave you that idea?
Christianity is not the only religion. Christianity is not the only spirituality.
Personally, I get tired of being told that I'm a Satanist, or that I worship Satan, or that I'm a non-believer, just because I'm not Christian. I get MANY more attacks from Christians than any other group here. Probably the most attacked group is Catholics being attacked by ersatz Christians.
So, if you're complaining about jabs at Christians here, please get some tougher skin.

Yes, i am so tired of it. i wish there was a column for us who are just wanting to fellowship & relate to each other. it does get depressing & some out there just target Christians.
& too, there is a girl going around targeting the JW's who is always offending people. She's bad news too. not that i'm taking up for them , i just dont belive that's the way to do things. I got 2 hate letters from her!!
Why cant we get along , yes.

Wanna make something of it? Kidding. Seriously, though, when you took a life as a Christian, you took on the persecutions that Christians have always taken. Did Jesus whine about it? Did he get on the internet and start a question that surely is just going to get him hounded further? No! I think you like the attention, and this is just a ploy to argue right along with the non-Christians!

i agree with you. we do not have to tolerate ignorance, but its your choice to do those questions. all you have to do is say god have mercy, they know not what they do and pray for them.and your right again. We have trials and doubts and problems all our own just as the atheist down the street does, but the only difference is we have god to help us through our problems they have nothing. just the best thing to do is overlook things that people do that bothers you, their religion is not bothering us, and we arent bothereing them. so let it be. just remember this..the bible says EVERY knee shall bow and EVERY tongue will confess that jesus christ is lord..ONE WAY OR ANOTHER...it might happen here or if now it WILL happen on judgement day..just keep your eyes on him and trust in him with everything that you have with in yourself and you will be in heaven being rewarded for your faithfulness. just show christ love through whatever you do. and love all religions bc jesus loves them too just as much as he loves you. have a good night!! god bless
