Sometimes when I try to go to sleep at night I get really anxious and start thinking about all the things that are bothering me or all the things I have to do the next day, and I calm myself down by praying about everything that's bothering me. I tell God everything I'm thinking and pray for every situation and person I'm thinking about, and I always fall asleep. I fall asleep in the middle of praying, but I think God understands.

I suffer from Social anxiety disorder, whenever I'm in a situation when my symptoms occur, i tell myself to make them worse it might sound stupid, but when i do it usually makes them abit better. Also when I'm in a stressful situation i try and stay there for 5- 10 minutes, then if my symptoms get better i stay for another 10 minutes etc.I've found that putting sea salt and bicarbonate of soda in a hot bath and just relaxing for about an hour really helps relax me, and i wasn't as stressed the next day about things i usually would be with.

You might be having panic attacks. I do. I've been taking a half mg. of risperdal for them. Now I'm trying to get off it and taking elavil. I still find myself breathing hard and today I had a headache. I took a tylenol and I'm not breathing as hard and my headache went away. You just have to keep trying different medications until you find one that's right for you.Try to get your mind off yourself. There's probably a site on here for panic attacks that tells you relaxing techniques. I need to look it up myself. I'm sorry you're going thru this...but it makes me feel a little more normal to know there's somebody else out there who feels the same way. I'm going to check and see if anyone sends you some good answers...for both of us.

Sometimes when I am freaking out I have to remind myself what Im doing and I have to talk to myself all the time. Im always saying "ok im driving to work right now just driving to work , ok now Im parking the car" I know it sounds really stupid but when I simplify every action it actually calms me down.
