In the Old testament, it says that If anyone do homosexualy; than they must be stoned to death. It also said the same thing to disobeyed kids, and your family if they try to get you to believe in false idols. I am no fan of stoning people to death, but why people are not doing it anymore?

I'm sorry to tell you that there is at least one country where they do, under Muslim law. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/2959082.stm
There is great pressure by the rest of the world for this practice to be abandoned.

They'll stone you when you're trying to be so good
They'll stone you just like they said they would
They'll stone you when you're trying to go home
They'll stone you when you're there all alone
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned
They'll stone you when you're walking on the street
They'll stone you when you're trying to keep your seat
They'll stone you when your walking on the floor
They'll stone you when your walking to the door
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned
They'll stone you when you're at the breakfast table
They'll stone you when you are young and able
They'll stone you when you're trying to make a buck
They'll stone you and then they'll say good luck
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned
Well They'll stone you and say that it's the end
They'll stone you and then they'll come back again
They'll stone you when you're riding in your car
They'll stone you when you're playing you guitar
Yes But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned
Alright
Well They'll stone you when you are all alone
They'll stone you when you are walking home
They'll stone you and then say they're all brave
They'll stone you when you're send down in your grave
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

People at that time did not have the Holy spirit to guide them. They were easily led astray and so God had to take a firm hand with them or else sin would have spread quickly. The Holy Spirit was not given to the people on the earth until after Christ was resurrected and ascended into heaven. They didn't have an internal compass like we do and so the penalties had to be strong. Also, it was the Jews.... the bloodline of Christ. It had to be kept pure.
BTW... that Lego thing is just plain wrong. LOL

Here is an explanation in the link below.
Basically Deuteronomy is only used these days to bash homosexuals. In all other contexts its considered non mandatory reading and suitabel to ignore - unless of course it can be used to support some right wing biggotry.

They still do in the Middle East.
American Randall Terry, best known for being an anti-abortion activist, did publicly advocate stoning kids to death if they strike their parents. "I believe we would have fewer rebellious teenagers," he said.

Because now it's murder, and if people tried doing in a free nation it they'd find themselves experiencing such a backlash they'd be fortunate to not be crucified from every utility pole available.

There's not enough stones for all the people the bible tells us to stone.
(Unless, of course, you recycle but I don't know if that's a great idea.)
