I have one of those cheaper george foreman grill that you can just turn on & off, no settings or anything. It works pretty okay except that every time I use it, it burns the outer layers of whatever I'm cooking while the inside stays uncooked. Like when I cooked salmon today, the top and bottom was burnt but the inside wasn't cooked fully. It happens with chicken or burgers too. How do I stop that from happening? I've tried spraying cooking spray and oil but the food still burns. Any advice?

You bought a cheaply made product endorsed by man who named all five of his sons "George." Nuff said.

I recommend that you continue to use cooking spray, but also that you let whatever you want to cook come up closer to room temperature before putting it on the Foreman. For example, pull your salmon out of the fridge 30 minutes to an hour before you want to cook it--same rule for the burgers. For chicken, not only let it come up to temp, but I recommend that you pound it between two sheets of plastic wrap to a uniform thickness so that it will cook more evenly.

Also, make sure that if you use marinades or sauces that they don't have any sugar in them--sugar will burn very quickly on a hot Foreman.

Hope these help.

Try putting the food on the grill before letting it heat up. Plug the grill in, put the food on, and as it heats up it will let the inside cook at a lower heat. Then as it gets hot it will cook the outside of the meat to a good crisp, while still getting a safe level of cooking on the inside.

I think you just need a new one. i had one that did that and it should not. if its new take it back for a diff one or just buy a new one. i bought a grill like that, but its not a George one. its bigger and works much better.
