Why is it with so many people (Muslims, Jews, Jehova's Witnesess, 7th Day Adventists.....and those of us by personal choice) that don't eat pork, more retaurants don't offer pork substitutes? Why can't I get turkey bacon at a deli or turkey peperoni with delivery?

Well I eat pork but I have some Jewish friends who don't eat pork and for them just the smell of cooking pork makes them sick. The Old Testament does forbid it. (I know I've read it myself) A lot of people don't believe that when Christ died he did away with all the laws of the Old Testament. Many of the laws in the O.T. looked really stupid at the time but now we know that it was for cleanliness. A good example is bugs. Jews were only allowed to eat Locust and Grasshoppers. (I believe it is an insect with six jointed legs) Locusts and Grasshoppers aren't famous for causing diseases like I don't know roaches and they aren't poisonous like spiders are.

If you're interested in learning about the Old Testament laws most of them can be found in Deuteronomy.

While I fully respect and admire the Jews and Muslims for not eating pork I don't agree that with people suing restaurants for serving food with pork in it. It's not fair to punish someone who does want to eat pork because of your religious beliefs.

This actually happened at McDonalds. The Muslims took McDonalds to court for cooking their fries in pork grease and won. They shouldn't have won because if McDonalds didn't want to change they didn't have too. The Muslims who were upset should have opened up a restaurant that sold fries that weren't fried in pork grease. That's what a free market economy's all about and we don't have that in this country anymore. Maybe if we did McDonalds and Walmart wouldn't monopolize everything.

It's a free country and if you are given extra rights someone else loses theirs.

Surprisingly, meats such as turkey ham, turkey pastrami, and so forth don't sell fast enough. Once you open a new package, it only gets a 7 day shelf life, and most of the time, you would have to throw 75%of it out.

They don't understand the bible about the eating of pig meat.. It was only prohibited to the Israel people at the time of Moses but in the New Testament of the Bible, it was cleansed by Jesus Christ.. It can be eaten as you wish but not too much becausew it will destroy your health by being a victim of hypertension.

If you're not happy with the meat choices of your restaurant, tell them. They won't know unless you speak up. Jews don't eat ANY mean with cheese, by the way :-)
