Baby fat. Hellooooo 27 mo. old. He's healthy. Goodness forbid if he becomes ill, that little bit of extra weight will save his life. My son was 17lbs at 2 months old, he's as tall as his sister that's 3 years older that he is. Your mom isn't a nice person that's for sure. If the child care isn't great, don't make the mistake of sending him to a bad one. Good for you! Your doctor would've let you know if he was over weight. Having kids is a difficult passage in life, everyone else thinks they know better. Trust yourself and don't let anyone bully you. Go and have a family day then treat yourself to a mommy day.

my son is 3 years old (as of oct) and 33.5 lbs hes 3 feet and almost 2 inches tall. dr said hes average weight and a lil taller than average. he was born at 8 lbs 12 oz. i know my son is almost a whole year older but i was hoping to give you some piece of mind, i think my sons weigth stayed the same the past 6 months and he just grew taller, so im sure your baby will have a lil growth spurt soon, plus havent you gone to his 2 year check up already? if there was a worry the doc would have told you. i like my boys big and healthy (not fat ,i make sure they eat healthy) every child is different. there is a high and a low on the chart of whats normal.

I wouldn't worry about it. My son was 3 weeks early and weighed 8lbs 15ozs. He is now 14 months old and weighs just as much as my 2 year old daughter - 32lbs!! My son isnt short either, so it doesnt look like rolls all over or anything - he is just alittle stocky. The doctor said that he is fine and he actually prefers to see babies that size rather than underweight. Its just baby weight - he will lose it as long as he is active. Just let him be a kid and let what your mom is saying go in one ear and out the other. Your baby boy is healthy and that is something to cherish :)

Try not to worry about it too much. Sometimes people are just not very nice. If you are worried chart him on a growth chart and see where he is at.

As long as he is physically active and eats a healthy diet, you dont have to worry. My son is 4 years old weighs 60lb and is almost 48 in tall, he has been off the chart for years. He tends to get a bit of a belly right before a growth spurt, and then he grows and it gows away.

i have to agree with the majority on this one. my daughter weighed 18 lbs at 2 mths and was born at 7lbs 13oz. she is now 5 and 4'2" and 53 lbs...children come in all shapes and sizes. her baby sister is tiny but tall...about 30" and only 22lbs at 20 mths. i wouldn't be worried unless your ped says something and then i'd probably take that with a grain of salt as well. just keep taking good care of your baby boy and doing what you know is right for him. forget what everyone else says.

Kids come in ALL shapes and sizes. My son was 25lbs and almost 3ft tall by the time he was 8mos - yes 8mos. As long as the doctors haven't said anything, I'm sure your fine. Trust me, the doctor would have no problem telling you if your kid was overweight. Good Luck ;)

Unless your doctor is concearned, I wouldn't be. Children come in all shapes and sizes. The older he gets and the more he plays he will lose the "baby fat" as they call it. As long as he is eating balanced meals everything should be fine.
