I'm not sure I understand what you get with the extra 20 GB.

Its a trade off, extra 20gb for Backward compatibility. You still get BC with 80gb but not as many PS2 games work. So if you wanna play all PS2 games go with 60, if you don't care as much then get the 20gb extra.

PS you will need the space, people have said games like Heavenly sword take up more that 2gb...!!! So in a few years, with bigger games, more space utilized you will need the space. Also there are demos, videos music...trust me you'll need it. But you can always buy any ol' 2.5" S-ATA HDD and stick er in.

Well, you get the 80 gb if PS2 backward compatibility isn't all that important to you (it's still important, but not everything) and you want to get Motorstorm. The 80 gb uses software emulation for backward compatibility, so not all PS2 games will be playable on the 80 gb PS3.

You get the 60 gb if PS2 backward compatibility is very important to you. The 60 gb has the emotion engine, which was the CPU used in the PS2, so the 60 gb can play almost all PS2 games.

All that means is more memory to save your games etc- 60 is just fine! unless you are using the memory to get pics and print - internet etc
