Ad-Aware is a GREAT prog, but for MAXIMUM protection you want to pair it with Spybot Search & Destroy. While they look for a lot of the same things, they also look for different things, too.
I run my SS&D first and then the Ad-Aware to mop up what SS&D isn't designed to look for or MAY miss. It's an unstoppable duo!!!
Both are free and very easy to use. However, the SS&D has a lot of other features that help protect your computer in its Advanced Mode. BUT it still does a good job even if you don't use the Advanced Mode.
Download A-A here:

SS&D from here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/
Remember to UPDATE them as soon as you install them and KEEP them that way. I check for updates every day and I run scans with them every day before I turn off my puter, too.
I hope this helps. Good Luck!

go here
http://www.tucows.com/preview/236049
Download it and then check for updates then begin scan by clicking start scan. After a few minutes the program will stop with results of your scan, now click next and put a check in both boxes then click next again to remove the spyware.
