Some absurdity that you have experienced, such as a surreal misunderstanding with a friend, or an observation about the adult world that you find humorous, for example, replying to people who are really talking on cell phones, or wondering what your dog was thinking if he could talk to you, or how some people wear certain fashions so long that they are back in style without meaning to be (I had a high school teacher at a preppie school in the 80's who wore Birkenstocks and we all thought it was the geekiest thing ever, but now it would be normal, and at one point, cool even). I also wonder about the reason behind the bizarre value our society puts on entertainment. More people know who Britney Spears and all about her personal life than about where the presidential candidates stand on issues.
Which has more impact on our lives?
We really do live in a bizarre country and there are loads of funny things to write about.
Good luck!

BQ: I use to read a lot but not as much lately. I read generally fictional stories on real life problems and issues mostly deep and disturbing things that are emotional. I also love sci-fi and dark fantasy books as well. BQ2: I'm someone who sends a really long paragraph verging on an essay nearly haha. I sometimes feel annoying because most people only send a quick message back. But I like to have a more in depth and interesting conversation. BQ3: Yeh I do, it just feels like they didn't really care or aren't really trying to rebuild the relationship or catch up. Just when they don't reply in the way you wanted gets me a bit down. BQ4: Mercury - Scorpio, Venus - Libra, none in the 3rd house, 11th house - Capricorn.

the best articles are ones about something you know the best or have experienced. i hate reading anything by someone who has no idea what it is really like. for example - maybe you play an instrument - talk about that. perhaps you play a sport - do that. you go to school - so talk about something everyone can relate to and you know well - exams, school food, the teachers are people too,
or an event that has happened or memories of happy ones and add a funny photo - eg. first halloweens, thankgiving, christmas shopping, meeting Santa at the Mall, so many ideas

Write an article about the difference between the laughable promises that people make when they're running for class president vs. the reality of their true sphere of influence. Find out what the campaign promises are/were for the candidates of the last few years and then ask school officials like the principle if such promises were really achievable, or if they were just laughable lies to get votes.

Well Honey, don't let the fact that you don't have anything to talk about stop you from writing. Think "Jerry Seinfeld." What was that show all about? Nothing! They could take one insignifcant event and turn it into a whole show, or even, at times a running joke through several shows, some becoming classics. So, don't let the fact that you think you don't have anything to talk about stop you. Ramble on. (Just make sure you have a beginning, a middle, and an end! And always run Spell Check!)

I used to write to Newspapers and magazines. I started by responding to Articles/News items written therein. There's a Column "Letters to the Editor" Make comments and lets hear what you personally think about the Article/News item. From there you will naturally develop the feel to write your favorite beliefs/understanding on certain things etc. Try that route. You'll be surprised. Good writing to you.

How about an observation on students through out the year, and through out their school lives. Comment on the changes between freshmen and seniors, how they change as exams and prom near. People love to reminisce on who they used to be, and they also love to hear about other people. Simply sitting in a corridor watching people as they go past will be good material! Have fun...I wish out school had a newspaper :(

Why don't you do a mock interview, maybe about the presidential race. Interview a diverse group of students from your school, with representatives from each of the main groups. A jock, a nerd, a cheerleader, an emo, a goth, etc. You could have them all respond in character and then start fighting with each other. Could be fun.

Writing an article about invasion of privacy in Myspace.com

or checking up an Weird Al Yankovic (On myspace) and his music parodies.

You can also write about Reality Shows and how people do it all for money. I wrote one about the Worst Singer and why they always win in American Idol.
