over the beasts??

Eccl 3:20-21 insists that " all go to one place: All are from the dust, and all return to dust. " Hence, " man has no advantage over beasts, for all is vanity." The JWs cite this verse to prove that human beings do not consciously survive death. " Does each human have a spirit that goes on living as an intelligent personality after it ceases to function in the body? No." ( Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1989, 383 )

Verse 20 states what happens to the flesh.

Verse 21 suggests no one knows whether one's spirit shall rise to heaven or fall to hell after death. So one should glorify God through hard work in all that they do, regardless of their fate. Through reasoning though one would know that this leads to salvation.

According to some explanations i think he is saying that if a person tries going after money and things like that in this world, he is the same as the beasts because it cannot be taken to the next world (after he dies), hence it is vanity. Therefore a person should follow g-d and perform good deeds during his life that can be taken to the next world with him.

It means that man can not win or cheat death. there is no advantage to living a life to win and not have to die. We can not raise ourselves up to the point of self righteousness and obtain eternity. Man alone can not achieve this by any means other than accepting Jesus. So man's only hope is not rooted in self but in that of The Lord Jesus Christ.

It is because of Vanity, that man has invented Heaven, and wants to believe he has a soul that other animals do not have. Fortunately, all of us do not believe such nonsense.
