That a *whole* lot of people in my country think it gives them the right to tell other people how they should live.

kind of long! bare with me
I have to say what any one believes in depends on their amount of faith and whatever feels right to them. I am not gonna get into my beliefs but to me Jesus dieing on the cross to me,makes me wonder why we all cannot just except what others think with respect,even if you do not agree, and move on with your life. Why does it seem everyone is always "forcing specific" choices to be made or converting of some sort. I think that inner voice/soul will guide you to what is right for you. Maybe one thing is not right for you and it is perfect for others.Greed& Power and Evil placed a good man like Jesus,a role model/sign of peace and a being full of love that he was to suffer and die at his expense for evils gain. Love is the best thing. The question of if he was real does not matter to me, because there are millions of people that have those same qualities today as back then. He died on that cross,a good loving man died, as many do today, due to Greed and power and a need for control. I see a good loving man dieing for the evil longing of control greed and power,same thing happening in this world today. I wish we all could see that but all I can do is hope and when asked tell my opinion. Soon we will have to find love out of all else, Truth will always come out in the end, I believe

About the same as any other persons death. Lots of people died, on the cross and by even worse means.

Lots, I finally understand for myself what it means! Apply it to your life and its meaning has profound effect. When you live and die to make others have a more fruitful and happy existence without the hurt that you have experienced yourself. In other words love everyone regardless of what they do to you and understand that their reaction comes from not knowing, but sooner or later they will know!

Christianity is a morbid religion...after all their symbol is a man nailed to a cross....how much more depressing can you get?
