Really, do you trust the laws of science enough , without ever having done it, that you will have a bad experience if you put your finger in the electric outlet? Here is what I want some willing christian to do. Pray real hard. Pray some more. Then go stick your finger in the electric outlet and let me know if God or Science was correct. I never saw a commandment in the bible "Thou shalt not putteth forth thine own finger unto the electric outlet". So if it's not in the bible, it must be okay to do. Unless......you trust science about this. And if you trust science about this, why not trust it about god?

悪魔 ジューリイェンー, yes, I am quite sure that some scientist has tried playing with electricity, umm, how about Benjamin Franklin, will he do?

yes, I never said anything about Jesus, I think he was a smart guy, smart enough not to put His finger into an electrical outlet. Or jumping off some cliff. He was Smart. Maybe, if He were alive today, he would get a scholarship to MIT

Trust in God has little to do with the application of scientific knowledge. Science has its limitations, but that does not mean that science is not useful.
Many people think that science can answer all of our questions. This is because they don't understand that science is the search for truth by the application of the Scientific Method. When scientists speculate about subjects that are not observable, such as the origin of the universe, the origin of life & c, they come up with theories which are NOT science. Especially when these theories are based on assumptions. True science is not based on assumptions, it is based on observation.
It a person assumes that life originated by natural forces, and not as the act of a Creator, he or she will accept evolution, or some similar scenario. But since the assumption cannot be proven either way, evolution remains a specualtion - not science.

Well, first of all, my fingers won't fit in an outlet, so even if I stupidly wanted to do something like that...I couldn't.
Secondly, when did trusting science and believing in God go hand in hand? Are you just speaking theoretically? A scientist never told me not to play with an outlet...it was my mother. I am able to make my own decisions about God and religion. I don't need anyone to tell me that what I believe may be right or wrong. I can figure that one out on my own.
Therefore... I wish everyone would quit telling people that what they believe is WRONG. Live your own life the way you think it should be, and let everyone else do the same.

God didn't make us stupid. We do have the ability to learn, and by the way...God created science, and all human scientists do is tinker with and try to figure out how God did what He did and why.
We accept "proven" science, but we will certainly reject "junk" science like evolution of the species and global warming, just as we rejected the junk science of the ice age we were told to expect during the 80's.
For some reason...rejection of any scientific theory or hypothesis by a Christian, or other believer of God = stupidity to the evolutionist/science crowd.
Go into your room, put together all the things you would want a future society to know about this time in history, place them in a plastic non-biodegradable container, bury it in a park, or other federally protected preserve so it will remain undisturbed. Now in a thousand years...if someone happens to dig it up, or an earthquake shakes it loose...what do you think that those future generations will find? Why do we expect that they will see our way of life through the items we buried for them?
I'll tell you this...it's not because we expect what we put in the capsule to evolve while it's waiting to be found throughout the ages. Those who bury it expect what the future generations will find when they take it out, to be exactly the same as it was when it was put in...give or take a little deterioration depending on how airtight the container is.
How about a million years...do you think these items will somehow evolve into some form of life in that amount of time?
...that the digital watch, that power bar, that newspaper clipping, magazine, photograph, flower, rock, acorn, that smallville dvd what have you...will somehow evolve into a complex life form just because they happened to be buried long enough?
That is what evolution expects us to believe.
Go one step further...assemble all the building blocks of life into one little container and bury it in the ground...of course this could be problematic...although all the essential elements of life are in one controlled encasement, there is no such thing as a million year supply of oxygen...and certainly no everlasting battery, thereby no light...of course if we are to be reasonably sure these things at least have the potential to be available, assuming the result of an asteroid collision won't block the light from the sun and/or bring about an ice age, it would require these building blocks to be outside of their encasement and in the elements...susceptible to the world around them.
It requires a non-controlled environment where wind and rain and hail and flooding and volcanic eruption, and any other natural event would not only change their relation to each other, but make it absolutely impossible to test considering the multitude of variables in a test environment the size of the earth.
This is what you would have us believe, and this is why it cannot be proven, because it can never be tested. Evolution is pure religious faith, and since you have no God as the Creator of this magical impossibility, we will put our faith in the One True God who told us how we were created, how long it took, and what our purpose is in this world according to His Word instead.
Take Care and God Bless!

God is the creator of all things, including science.
I trust God and know enough about His creation not to stick my finger in a socket!
Well, that and the fact I have done it before! I thought it'd be a good idea to fix the socket with the electric still on, so I could see what I was doing!
It was a truly shocking experience!
My hair has never been the same since! lol!

8-track mind. You used that metaphor as an 'answer' in my question, even though it totally didn't answer my question, and made the faulty assumption that I was religious.
And for your question, the reverse claim could be made, how do you know that it is harmful unless it has been tried and protested against? Did the scientists try it themselves? Do you have proof the scientists tried this? It might well be the greatest feeling in the world, and you'd never know. It is well known that is not the case because a great many people have tried it. I got electricuted by a power transformer when I lived in Germany, and I know for a 'fact' that it is not a good idea. Others have similar experiences, I'm sure. However, God is a different matter altogether. Nobody can replicate that experience, even if they wanted to.

well really depending on your personality no matter what scientific stuff or whoever told you about something or even maybe the bible saying not to do so some would do it just to test and experience it themselves and honestly I found out about an electrical outlet the simple way put your finger in it and well common sense finally kicks in for most to pull your finger out.to really trust in god and not be afriad you have to have faith in god not just think you do or say that is how you feel when it is there you will know it

Funny. A similar scenario happened in the bible. Satan Told jesus to jump off a cliff because if he prayed god would save him. To which Jesus responded, "thou shalt not tempt the lord thy god"
So, nice try flamebaiter, but you are a day late and a dollar short with that question. Try another one.

Dangit, I missed the prohibition about not putting forth mine own finger unto the electric outlet. I DID see the part about counting to three ("four shalt thou not count, nor two excepting thou procedeth straightaway to three; five is right out") before throwing the holy handgrenade.

Actually, putting one finger into ONE side of the outlet is perfectly safe. It's when you complete the circuit by putting another finger into the OTHER slot that bites you. LOL

Because then you have electrical cords to things like TV or floor lamps hanging down the wall instead of along the floor. It looks bad.
