ok, i ran into this same problem and I am healing and feeling so much better. There are multiple issues that can cause this.
1. Hormones. How is his sex drive? This is a clear indicator of his testosterone levels. If he has low testosterone, and growth hormone, he will have these symptoms like fibromylagia. I had pain in every joint of my body and it turned on my testosterone was very low! It was below the normal range. Once I got on testosterone treatment, my pain slowly went away. However, i ran into a problem with the testosterone converting to estrogen and my pain came back. Once that was fixed, pain went away! Hormones are a huge factor in this! I will suggest something at the end of this answer.
2. Did he play sports, or do something that caused injuries to the areas that he has pain in? Old injuries may not always heal completely. If he has stress in his life, or low hormones like above, these injuries and pain will be very intense.
3. Exercise. Is he exercising? Exercise over time can help eleviate his pain.
4. His diet. Diet can cause pain. There is such a thing as food allergies that can cause localized pain, or pain in multiple areas such as in your husband's case. He could be eating something often that he is severly allergic to!
Your doctors are not working for you, and im sure you dont want to take months or years trying to find a good doctor. I was so lucky to find the NATURAL medical doctor that I seen in Oak Park, Illinois (15 minutes from downtown chicago). He helped me figure out the source of my pain and alleviated it. He cares about people and their pain. He will look at everything that can possibly cause his pain.
I cannot tell you what may be causing your husband's pain, and no person on here will be able to tell you exactly what is going on. Do not go to a conventional doctor and let them label your husband as having fibromyalgia! My doctor explains that this is a BS medical condition because fibromyalgia is a direct cause of doctors not caring about the source of a patients pain!
Please think about seeing my doctor in chicago! It will be worth the travel time and money because he will find out what is causing yoru husbands pain and cure it! A conventional doctor will only give your husband pain killers that will ultimately cause liver and kidney damage by the time he is 50!
here is my doctor's website
www.caringmedical.com
He offers so much for chronic pain. Prolotherapy is a big thing he utilizes that your husband may need for his back. I have had 5 joints successfully cured by the prolo and the help of the hormone treatment and diet. He will put your husband on a very specific diet according to his blood type. They will check for food allergies and get to the bottom of this pain.
Please think about what im saying and look into seeing my doctor. His name is Ross Hauser and he has given me back my life. I am only 23 and i was feeling as though i was 90 years old since i was 19 years old!

Poor guy! I don't know what it is, but have you tried omitting all peppers, tomatoes, and potatoes? I know a few people with arthritis who have been helped by this. Also, how about homeopathic Rhus Tox or Arnica? These are both very basic remedies which should be available at any health food store. I would really think about food allergies and would consider seeing someone who does NAET if possible.
The other thing that sometimes helps with this sort of thing is taking a good probiotic, assuming the md 's have ruled out any infectious disease (Lymes disease, etc.) and it may be autoimmune. I would look to other doctors. There are MD's who are open to alternative practices, and there are some very good alternative practioners out there, as a massage therapist, you probably have some good contacts.
Good Luck!

Hi Sweetie,
This will sound wierd to U, but maybe not R
Husband. My Uncle was a Jockey & suffered severe pain after a bad fall, I met a guy who has arthritis 76 yrs old, I have Fibromyalgia, Ostio Arthritis/65% my body & Sciatica. The point being we all use Horse Ointment! You heard that right, even 1 of my girlfriends bought it 4 her arthritis at Zeller's, & I have 1 as well. After a througho massage it sinks right into r skin. For hands no doublt "X-tra Strength Tigar Balm" lil jar goes along way (pharmacy) & for those X-tra small places, + headachs. Both old fashioned, but GOOD for wat ails you!
Best of Luck, I know the PAIN! If all else fails, take him to another Dr with
compassion & get some Pain Med's, I'm on
Morphine Pills too. U didn't mention age r how his injury started? Mine was threw a very bad Trauma/Car Accidents cause it 2.
LOL, Diana D
PS I'm in a Fibromyalgia Group & it effects which Men attend as this decease doesn't just effect Women. He needs a Specialist 4 bones, tendents, ligaments & maybe a few before proper diagnose. Insist r Dr. send u 2 these Experts & start getting P.O.d as r not gonna take it Anymore!!!!!!!!!! Fight 4 r Right to have proper med-care Results, I did & I'm in my late 40's.
Hope this is of some help?

I have to back up Delta Queen. I was injured at work six years ago and was manipulated by workmen's comp for several months until an MRI was ordered on my lower back. It showed an SI joint displacement that was not picked up on x-rays and required two injections to lubricate the joint. I was also taking many of the same medications you mentioned. Physical therapy to strengthen my lower back muscles and a TENS unit to relax the spasms did more than the drugs. Chiropractic care only aggravated the condition and would not have been ordered if the MRI had been available for diagnosis. I still have pain today, but it is not as paralyzing as it once was. I moved from Denver to Miami and the heat does more to alleviate the pain than anything. I ride a bicycle at least 20 miles every day and have had periods as long as 15 minutes where the pain is not noticeable.

It could be any number of things that are causing his pain. He needs to see a neurologist for a workup, and then the neurologist can refer him to a pain management specialist. Pain management is now a highly specialized field of medicine, and they have made all kinds of advancement in helping people with chronic pain. Be aware that overuse of painkillers is a huge problem in America, and that's why his doctors are hesitant to give him pain meds. He has to see a specialist. With America's prescription drug abuse problem, he can't expect to get the help he needs without one. Best of luck to both of you.

Has any one thought about RSD. Not a lot has been done on this disease, but it does exist and travels in this pattern sometimes. Some doctor's doesn't believe it exists, but my Mom is living proof it does. Find a good pain specialist and check it out. Good Luck.
