I had gotten this kitten from a local humane society. When i got it i took it home and found out that it was infested with flees, and had a cough and was having problems breathing. So i gave it a flee bath and schedualed a vet appt. I found out the kitten was only 6 weeks old, but they said it should be able to eat on its on, and if not to feed it kitten milk. It had an upper respetory infection, worms, fleas, earmites, and problems with its eyes. They gave me meds for everything, and when i got it home it wouldn't eat. I figured it would adventually so i didn't worry much. The next day it at maybe 1 piece of food literally. I figured mayb it just didn't lik it so i went and bought 2 other kinds of kitten foods, iams and purina. still wouldn't eat them. It drinks water but nothing else. I bought it a kitten bottle with kitten milk and it wont drink it, or regular milk either. I tried soaking the food in water and it didn't work. HELP please

Since my kitten is only 6 weeks old i can't put frontline on it... and all the flea baths say not to use under 12 weeks. So i bought tearless shampoo for the cat, and flea shampoo and just put a drop of the flea shampoo with it to get rid of the fleas, it worked pretty well. but the eggs are still on her fur and the flea brushes wont get out the eggs. What else could i use for that as well??

FOR FLEAS * Bathe the kitten again in the kitten flea bath. Then comb the kitten with a Flea Comb. Then put on Frontline Plus for Kittens. That should help with the fleas.
FOR POOR KITTEN * Call another Vet ASAP. Almost all Vets have different opinions, so look in the Yellow Book or online and find at least 3 other Vets near you. Call each one up and ask them. Tell them what is wrong with your kitten, and ask what you should do. Go to the one that seems the most sure of what is wrong. Schedule an appointment ASAP.
I think your kitten is seriously ill, and you are sooo right to be worried about it. Try putting the kitten in an enclosed room. Put all the different kinds of food there, in different bowls. Also put some wet kitten food there. Put your kitten's bedding and toys in there also. Come in the room every half-hour and try to feed your kitten some of the kittens milk through the bottle. PLEASE DON'T LET YOUR KITTEN DRINK COW'S MILK! IT CAN MAKE KITTEN'S STOMACHS REALLY, REALLY UPSET. IT CAN MAKE THEM VERY ILL. So, every hour, take a warm blanket and cradle your kitten in it. Try to feed it the KITTEN'S MILK REPLACEMENT that you can buy in a Pet Store. If your kitten still won't eat, put a dab of the KMR (Kitten Milk Replacement) on your kittens mouth. She should lick that. If she does lick it, put some more on her mouth. Your poor kitten sounds weak. Please try to schedule an appointmant with a new Vet ASAP!!! Your old one might not be wrong, but it is good to double-triple check, espesially with an animal's life!!!
I will pray for your kitten, so she will get better. God Bless!!!
I am sure your kitten will get better, because God is watching over us and all animals!!!

It's gonna take it sometime to get over the upper respiratory infection - the medication will help but it's no miracle cure it will take sometime for the kitty to be feeling it's old self and for the sinuses to drain for the kitten to be able to smell it's food. I'd suggest getting either a humidifier or a vaporizer and putting beside the kittens bed to help clear up the sinuses, also you can shut the kitten in the bathroom when you take a shower the steam helps open them up as well - the kitten will not eat if it can not smell it's food - lack of smell is an appetite suppressant with cats.

Go to your vet, tell him that your cat is not eating and that you'd like to purchase some Nutri-Cal for the cat. It is a high-calorie high-nutrition gel that you feed to the cat orally. When my parents cat got sick and wouldn't eat, the vet gave me Nutri-cal and the cat loved it. I would feed it to him alone at first and later when his health started to permit it, I would mix it with wet and/or dry food. I noticed a remarkable change in his appearence with-in weeks.
Nutri-Cal is a prescription item for pets only, it is loaded with a very large amount of vitamins and minerals and if misused can cause more damage than harm. So make sure you carefully follow the instructions from your vet and/or the tube if the vet decides to prescribe it.
Did your vet remove the ticks/fleas from your cat? That should've been done first. It may also be a good idea if you ask your parents to go with you. They might have some useful questions for the vet that can help.

Please keep your vet informed of the kitten's progress so they can continue to advise you.
Didn't the vets give you some proper flea treatment? Frontline spray can be used on kittens and puppies from 2 days of age, please get some.
Do not rely on ANY flea or worm treatments from pet stores - of course they say not to use on animals under 12 weeks, that's an underestimate, they're not even safe for use on adult animals!
Don't buy every kitten food under the sun. Your kitten is not eating because it isn't well. Also don't feed it cow's milk, this should not be given to cats, it gives them diarrhoea because they can't digest it.
Pick up the phone to your vets.

ur kitten might not want to eat by itself until it gets used to everything around him/her. when i first had my cat, he was young and i had to literally bottle-feed him for about 2 months...basically, i used a large medicine dropper, but with a small end so the kitten wouldnt choke on the milk...for the first few feedings, i held the kitten with one hand (with my thumb and index fingers around the head to get a grip on the corners where his top and bottom part of the jaw meet) and i would squeeze a little of the milk into his mouth...if u cant do that or its too difficult, i suggest that u just fill the dropper, hold the kitten steady and just push slightly into the corner of his mouth with the dropper and squeeze the milk there, it'll automatically swallow a little of the milk at least...after the kitten gets used to that way of feeding, u can just squeeze the milk w/o using force to keep the kitten there, let the kitten get used to it, and sooner or later, he'll switch to dry/wet food, just be sure to leave a plate there with solid food so he might try it out...hope that helped u a little =D

It may not have been weened from the mother....get a kitten bottle and hand feed the kitten. You literally have to open the kitties mouth and feed it. Eventually it should start suckling the bottle by itself. It this does not change anything. Call you vet immediately, there may be more to the story that you or your vet may not know yet. Hope this helps

Buy it some canned cat food and make sure it is warm or soak her dry food in with the kitten milk. Good Luck!! You may need to call your vet back and tell her.
