I went to the doctor yesterday (Tuesday). He said I have severe strep throat, post nasal drip, sinus infection, and the flu. He prescribed Amoxicillian and Flonase. He told me to take tylenol and ibprofen for the pain. He also told me that after 24-48 hours on the meds I can go back to work. So far, nothing is working (I have been on the meds for around 30 hours). The pain is still bad and I even have a "hairy black tongue" from the amoxicillian. Should I go back to work as a teacher tomorrow or wait it out another day? I still cringe when I swallow and am still running a low grade fever.

Stay home, rest, and take care of yourself. Get a substitute! The kids can manage without you for a few more days. Besides, you may still be contagious. By going back too soon, you would be adding stress and exhaustion to your list of ailments.

RUKM? u would b lucky 2 leave the house by 2morrow. u could pass on ur germs to other kids and make them sick. honey, my advice is to just take it easy 2morrow, have soup, watch tv, read, and catch some zzzs. and even if u are well, i advise that u dont go in to work until nxt week, but leave the house on friday and just take some YOU time. i mean, as a teacher, you don't get much of that with kids yakking in ur ears. catch up on grading over the weekend, maybe even find someone like a niece or someone you trust to grade those papers (u should get a guarantee if u make it their worthwhile aka $$). SO RELAX, and wat im trying to say is STAY HOME!!! :{ ) - ;] - :o

Try gargling with warm salt water (half teaspoon of salt in 4 ounces of warm water) several or more times a day. This may help.

i would definitely wait. by going back to work, you may worsen your condition with all the talking and possibly spread strep throat to your students

Stay home!!! YOu still feel bad, and I'm pretty sure kids don't want what you have, either.
