Your car needs to be aligned or however its spelled, when you get your tires rotated they should be able to do it, you car gets knocked out of aligned when you get in to a wreck that hits the front.

Is this happening when coming to a stop (braking) or when you're idling at a stop?

If it's while braking, you might have warped brake rotors. Have them "turned" at a brake shop or garage. Have the entire brake system checked while you're at it. A check of the suspension and steering would be a good idea as well.

If the vibration is happening while you are at a stand still, it sounds like your engine is missing pretty badly. Or possibly a broken motor mount. A bad motor mount would likely make a "thunk" type noise when accelerating from a stop. A bad miss would probably be noticeable in poor performance while driving as well as at a stop.

I'm sure that whatever is causing your problem can be diagnosed and fixed by a competent machanic.

sounds like a broken motor mount. have a good mechanic
check this out. another way to tell if you do indeed have a broken motor mount is to step on the throttle hard and listen for a loud clunk. that is and indicator that one or more of the motor mounts is wore out or broke. they can be replaced.
i have done this myself on my moms 88 old 98 regency
with the 3.8 buick v-6.

Sounds like you have a big misfire in the motor. Isolate which cylinder is causing the problem and then check for a mechanical fault, ignition problem, or a fuel problem.

you either have a bad mis -fire in it or you have broken engine mount, you need to have this checked they can put it up on a rack and check it and probably find the one that's bad if that's it,any shop should be able to find the cause of this for you good luck on it.

Have a mechanic check the engine mounts, one could be loose or broken.

time for plugs, cap and wires..don't agree with the motor mount theory..warped rotors will make the driver sway back and forth..so forget the warped rotors..she says it's at stop lights not when she is trying to stop......inlet air restriction?
air flow sensor?

You probably need a tune-up or check your carburator. Best wishes.
