Would the U.S. ever invade Canada for resources?

I'm not talking about tomorrow, but America has a huge consumption rate. And if they continue to have to pay high prices for middle-eastern oil, might they not take Canada's resources by force? They also need water, which we have plenty of. We are a militarily weak country by comparison, so we would be no obstacle. Again, im talking about the distant future.

I don't think so, the cultural ties are too close despite what people on both sides of the border might say. A more likely future than conquest is a North American Union along the lines of the EU. There are people who say that such a union is already in the works.

I have no doubt that if the Americans needed our resources, they would indeed invade.

A number of years ago, they were forced to admit that they had contingency plans for just such an action.

If we were that kind of a country we would head south Reason Mexico asked America to get at their oil than nationalized the American cos. So we would be taking back what is ours! just as England,Spain and France invade Mexico ;in 1886 to get them to repay them

Really doubtful, the US has lots of natural resources of its own. Liberals just make it hard to drill for it.
