Many know the origins of the term 'rock' or 'rock-n-roll' when it comes to music, although there are two versions of the origin. Nonetheless, God invented music and all that it entails.
Style of music is mostly neither here nor there. It is about content, mostly.
And, no, it is not 'crappy music', as your opinion so states. There are many good Christian rock bands out there, even in the metal arena.

The phrase "rock and roll" refers to sex. So that would be christian sex music. All good music (and art) is about sex.
