I have heard many tips and advice from veteran drinkers and the novice about drinking wisely. If only they practise what they preach...
The tried and tested ways which is pretty sound advice are -
First, don’t drink on an empty stomach. A full tummy slows down the body’s absorption of alcohol. You get high faster and since your tummy has not had food, the alcohol creates havoc and upsets the tummy making you throw up. That will be the end of all your fun for the night !!
In fact, alternating drinking an alcoholic beverage with water (or another non-alcoholic beverage such as fruit juice) will both keep you from drinking too much, and help you to stay hydrated. Some of the worst symptoms of a hangover — including that pounding headache, throwing up — are caused by dehydration. Moving around also keeps the blood distribution going and therefore alcohol is not concentrated inside you.
Whenever possible, don’t scrimp. Cheap booze gives you a worse hangover. That’s because the producers of expensive alcohol filter out more impurities.
Have fun, drink responsibly and if drinking at someone's home stay over or use a designated driver. If at a pub, get a friend to drive you or take a cab home.
Cheers and Bottoms Up !!

Eat a sesible meal, not too big and not too small, a few hours before you drink. And drink less than 4 alcoholic beverages. If you weigh less than 120 lbs, drink less than 3 drinks and don't drink too fast.
You probably throw up because you drink on an empty stomach or (the obvious answer) you drink too much. Cut back hun, you don't want to end up in the hospital getting your stomach pumped. Or even worse, pass out, choke on your vomit and die. Be careful.
